What are the benefits to disabling mds? I am hoping to get a tunner soon and some custom tunes and I see a lot of people turn their mds off. Why? I am curious as to what the benefits are? Thanks fellas.

The sound is 95% of it when we run loud exhaust it's annoying. Some people find the lag between shifting In and out of mds annoying and some don't even knowtice it. If it doesn't bother you it should only help with mpg.

I can hear the tone when it kicks in and doesn't bother me, The only that bothers me is when it engages when I am driving in town like 25-55 And it kicks on

The sound with the exhaust. Honestly only lost about .5 mpg turning it off anyways.

I have the stock "Aggressive Sound" dual exhaust. So the sound doesn't bother me much, and every once in a while it's nice to just chill out a little, so I left my MDS alone. But when I want it gone, I just hit the Tow/Haul button on the dash. Not sure why you'd want it permanently gone, but to each his own. .

I get 16 mpg all the time and occasionally tickle 17 mpg with my MDS disabled...which is quite a thrill for me, since the most I ever got out of the Silverado with the Active Fuel Management enabled that I traded in on my RAM was 13.5 mpg.

It was funny but when I disabled MDS I got my record high mileage of 20.2 mpg. Was from the instrument cluster calculation so give or take.
