ya right on, i have a 6'' aswell i found it quite a bit rougher, not sure if its the lift or the tires thats giving it the stiffer ride

Im wrong? Ok whatever. Ive had leveling kits on all types of trucks and every leveling kit that were spacers made my trucks ride stiffer. Do what you guys want to your trucks and I guess dont listen to my two cents because im WRONG. lmao

I agree that you are wrong, I did not notice any change in ride quality. You arent compressing the springs, or changing shocks or anything on the front end, just putting in a spacer between the strut and the coil bucket.

a 2-2.5 level with a 1.25 body lift would run you less than $200 for parts. Not bad, and a hell of a change!

What ^^^he^^^ said!

Or, if you wanna spend a bit more.
Do Bilsteins set to max and the 1.25" body lift.
That's what I got coming shortly :)

You will lose ride quality with spacers. Do bilstein 5100 leveling struts and set them at 2.1" and then get you a 1.25" rcx body lift. This will run you about 320.00 for everything.

I should have read a bit lower.
This is the route I'm taking

- bilstein 5100 on all 4 corners
- Fronts set to 2.8 (2.75") and rears will have a 1" coil spacer as the bilstein's in the rear allow for longer travel of 1"
- 1.25" RCX body lift

Fronts will be up 4" and rear up 2.25" for a slight rake ranging between .5"-1", which is how I want it.

Dont set your bilsteins at max settings you will be sorry. You will get vibrations in 4wheel drive. It.only works if you have a drop mount kit. Like a 4 or 6" lift. Just helping you out bro.

Really?
So what do you suggest with what I have?
Scrap the 1" coil spacer?
I got this setup idea from another member who says he gets no vibration.

Where and when would you feel it?

Parts
Bilsteins (4 corners)
1" TGC rea coil spacer
1.25" RCX body lift

How do you recommend I run this setup to keep a slight rake and run 35's (rims are 20x9, 0 offset)

Tires will either be 315/60/20 toyo MT
Or
295/60/20 Terra (34.5")

I should also point out that I rarely run in 4 wheel drive.
I like the off road look, but I drive in the city

Thanks

Based on this calculation it says it will....but it maybe in accurate or not.

Tire/Rim Calculator

Based on 275/60/20x9, +18 offset (stock): 315/60/20 tires (with the 20x9,0 offset) will be 2mm closer to suspension, it will stick out 38mm (1.5") from the fenders and fill the wheel well by 24mm

If our stock offset is +19 vs the +18 (not sure what it is as members say either or)
It will sit the same as stock (because of the 0 offset)

Now the 295/60/20 Terra's are actually larger than most this size too at 34.5 (H) x 12.4 (W) and members have been able to fit this with just a Bilstein level and nothing more.
This will sit worst case 2mm (0.1") closer to suspension over stock

So not sure what to believe here. This also does not factor a level or lift.

I know you have a lift at 6" and I think a -12 offset? Which means it sits further out from your fender. But for sure -12 clears.
The wheels I want only come in a 0 offset.

Pls correct me if I am wrong....

12.4" tire will fit with no problems on a 20x9 wheel with 0 offset. Now you will need at least the level for the 34.5" or 35" tall tire

Thanks for the confirmation.
I love your setup

Based on my above...what are you thoughts?
(Re cap, Bilstein 5100's, 1" rear coil spacer and 1.25" Body lift. I was hoping to set the Bilstein at 2.8 but as Big Horn 4 Life mentioned some have that vibration/wobble which I absolutely dont want.
I do have a 2012 Sport and dont have AWD, rather 2wd, 4wd lock, 4wd lo and 4wd hi)

Thanks

are you going for a leveled look or a lifted look with still having a slight rake? If you want leveled i would not put a 1" coil spacer in the rear.

I want the slight rake....
to me and only IMO, a leveled truck looks like its squatting.
Also, to avoid the 'possible' vibration/wobble, I was even thinking of keeping the Bilsteins at 0 (for a much better ride) and putting in the 2.5 RCX Suspension Kit that comes in the 3.75 RCX Combo kit .

But is the Bilstein truly 0 if set at zero or does it slightly lift.

Thoughts on running this vs what I currently have on order and arriving shortly?

i honestly dont' think that will lessen your chances for the vibrations....its not the form or brand of level that causes it, its that fact that when you level you are increasing the CV angles.

I guess....
so it comes down to how the truck will react to it.
Some/most get away with it and there are a few that experience this.

Soooo....you suggest trying it out as is and see?

Its a hit and miss. Try them at 2.8" and if it doesnt vibrate then leavem. If it does vibrate the lower them to 2.1". I wouldnt put spacers in the rear of you want some rake with them set at 2.1".

Thats what I was thinking.....
Worst case, I can do what you suggested by dropping down to 2.1" and removing the rear coil spacer and if that doesn't work, drop them down to 0 (are they really a 'True' Zero) and grab the RCX 4" Lift Kit.

But is it safe to assume that if i have vibrations/wobble with the Bilsteins leveled, Ill have the same issues if running the RCX 2.5 Suspension spacers?

Another question on the Bilstein....is there a 2.5" setting? If so, what ring number is it?

Ive hear people run it 0, 1.4, 2,1 and max 2.75
Is there a 2.5"

Yes there is a stock setting on the bilsteins. You should not get "any vibrations" at 2.1".

Thanks BigHorn.

Looks like I wasted $$ on that 1" Coil Spacer....lol

If you are saying no vibration at 2.1, then I guess, I will do the 2.1 and 1.25" body lift.
Still a decent height at 3.4"

What are your thoughts on an entry level 4" RCX lift kit?
I won't be going off roaring much if any....just want that 'off road' look :)

Also, would you know what coil/ring number is the 2.1 setting?

Im just hijacking this thread.....sorry to the OP

Good thread for reading. I'm back and forth about this subject. Got my rcx level in the mail but thinking might not be a good option now as opposed to the bilsteins.

The 2.1" setting is the second one from the top. You might not have waisted money on the coil spacer. Try the 2.8" setting and see what happens.

You got me sooo worried bout this that now I'm not sure I wanna pay the shop twice if it doesn't work out....
Worst case here....if I do it (I don't drive much in 4wd...rarely to be honest) and the CV's wear out..... What CV's cost?

If this happens, then I'll buy new CV's and lift the ***** up properly and do a 6"
:)

If your going to put a 6" lift on.it why dont you wait and do everything at once. Cv's are high dollor.

I know! I know!
But I wanna get my wheels on.....lol

Stock CV's are really that costly? Any idea on approx how much?
