Hello Guys -

Where is the best / cheapest place to buy one of the v6 E-Fans... I have a 2013 with the 5.7 and have removed the shroud and clutch fan so I wanna replace the stock E-Fan with the one from the v6... Looks like the OEM part #52014772AD and I've found several places online selling them for around $160.... It doesn't look like it comes with the top radiator hose holder thing for that price....

Thanks in Advance for your help!

Shipping prices very greatly. To find the best price you will have to shop around some.

Also make sure you get everything you might want/need so you don't have to place a second order.

The OEM v6 fan runs about $350-$400 now. The old part #s have been superceeded, so if you want cheap, you are better off buying the TYC #622320.

Is that one "plug & play" ready and include the top radiator hose clamp? I see where you posted back in 14 that over half of these come in with broken mounting tabs....

The TYC fan is plug-n-play and does come with a mount for the upper radiator hose. We stopped selling them a while ago because we did get quite a few with broken mounting tabs. Unfortunately, it is the cheapest option unless you want to pay close to $400 for the Mopar fan. There are many Mopar numbers still floating around, but when you go to purchase those, they will tell you the number has superseded to a new one, which is in that $350-$400 range.

My first TYC fan had a broken mount, shipped it back, the replacement has been great for the past 3-1/2 years and 40k miles.

I got a Dorman from RockAuto as it was the next up from the TYC and it had broken tabs but they were pretty quick to resend another.

OEM E-Fan

I just wanted to share this... I ordered the OEM E-Fan from a 2013 v6 RAM 1500 from Parts.com and just as it was stated above the part# they had online had been replaced.... They called me to ask if I wanted to proceed with the order and said the new price was only $16 more and shipping was going to run me a few bucks more... My total price delivered to my door is $209... Granted this is twice the cost of the aftermarket on Amazon but I figured it's OEM so it should have better fit, longer life and hopefully no broken tabs.

I'll update this thread again once I have it in my possession.

Maybe Mopar finally came back down on the price. They are all over the place on pricing. Do you happen to have the part# of the fan they are sending you?

The original fan part number was 55056851AC the. It went to 55056851AD, 55056851AE, 55056851AF. I just bought won and scoured the Internet, best price. Found for OEM part 55056851AF was $329 plus ship $370 to my door from east coast mopar. The part used to be about $175 couple years back but all dealers retail it now for $470. So I call BS on $200 it is not oem mopar but a copy...there are many aftermarket versions.
I just completed the ATI pulley and efan mod and am very happy with it. The mopar fan works flawlessly and is quiet. It also has the radiator hose mount and really opens up the motor area.

Also I have a 2013 ram and the fan that came with my late model production 7/2013 had the identical fan as the v6 fan but no shroud or built in thermostat. Also was missing the rad hose attachment. If you want oem and the right fan buy the one I posted above part number 55056851AF. That is a mopar fan and fitment is perfect as well as runs perfect as I havnt switched my thermostat as of yet. So just drop in... plug in... And done.

Here is a pic of the fan that came in my 13 and the 55056851AF side by side.

No BS

I'll post a picture of it when it comes in.... I paid for a genuine Mopar part... If that's not what shows up then I'll simply send it back and buy the aftermarket one.....

I stated oem on website when I looked up I hope it's the right fan... If it is you got a great deal. Correct part is the number I posted newer fans end in AF now. I also Looked up that part number and didn't look like it had the upper rad hose mount in the schmatic.

Please explain to the newbie.

Why would you replace the radiator fan on a 3 year old truck?

With the "E-Fan" you don't need the clutch fan, which gives you a little usable HP increase.

Newer trucks have the E-Fan already (can't remember if it's 2014 or 2015) so you can just remove the clutch fan with no further modification.

In either case, the E-Fan is only good with the stock thermostat, unless you have access to re-program the E-Fan temp cut in/out (i.e. through a tuner).

So its a matter of reducing engine drag brought on by the radiator fan being linked to the engine through a temperature activated clutch and switching it to an electric fan?

The V8 trucks all come with both an electric fan and a clutch fan. The earlier ones electric fan is primarily for the AC (which needs constant air regardless of engine temp), and possibly supplemental cooling(?).

The V6 had a more efficient electric fan only. It has a shroud which makes it more efficient, probably different blade design, and maybe higher speed. Anyways, it moves enough air that the clutch fan is not needed.

So replacing the lower efficiency V8 electric fan with the higher efficiency V6 "E-Fan" makes the clutch fan superfluous.

Later V8s, for some reason already have the higher efficiency fan, so the clutch fan can simply be removed.

And yes, more available power because the engine is not having to turn the mechanical fan.
