Yesterday I tried to clean my AC evaporator to eliminate the musty socks smell. My efforts improved things, but it was not the complete fix I way hoping for. I posted in the Detailing Sub-Forum, but maybe that was a mistake, because I would like specific 4th Gen advice.

If you have successfully dealt with smell from your AC system, please share what you did. What product, "how to", and results would be nice !

Thanks in advance

Replace the cabin air filter and then put your battery on a tender. Run the recycle setting on your climate control and run an ozone.

If you remove the blower motor you may gain partial access to the evaporator coil , with some creativity you might be able to spray some cleaner on it . Geno’s garage has a filter kit for the cowl that helps keep the cabin filter a little cleaner than just the cabin filter by itself. Maybe someone has better info. Hope this helps .

BG A/C cleaner kit works VERY well. Drilling a small hole in the case is required on some vehicles, and the kit provides that instruction and a plug for the hole when finished.
I own an ozone generator and it seldom works in just one application. Depending on how bad it is, it can take 4-5 times. My 2002 Blazer which sat outdoors for 5 years not running, was full of mold and mildew. I've treated it 4 times, and it is better, but not totally cleared up.

My next step is a BG kit.
