I have 35x12.5’s on the stock wheels. At full turn they just barely scrub on the sway bar…dosnt hurt a thing.

295 with a factory, or at least modest offset would be fine. 0 offset you will have moderate to heavy rubbing at full lock.

I look at customoffsets.com to see other sets ups but off the top of my head I think that would work.

A 43 offset is just shy of 2 inches. A 12 offset is 1/2 an inch. I would be looking for as close to 43 as possible and no less than a 30.

It isn't just about will it fit. Any less and you risk rub at full lock as well as having tires outside the fender, poor high speed stabilty and greatly increased load on your bearings. If you pull any weight at all, that is a bad combination.

If you run the 3500 empty all the time, less critical as long as they don't rub.

Your Ram wheels are an 18 x 8, 8 x 6.5 bolt pattern and a 57mm offset.

A 295/70R18 tire will fit with no mods & can be mounted on an 8" wide wheel. Most shops won't mount a tire that requires a wider rim width than what is on your truck. For instance, a Toyo ATIII 35x12.5R18 requires a minimum width of 8.5" and they do not recommend mounting that tire on a narrower wheel.
The next thing you need to look at and understand, in addition to width, is offset. Here's a good way to compare offsets and tire sizes to your stock setup:

Wheel Offset Comparison

And here is the link to compare different tire sizes:

Tire Size Calculator

The reasons for linking both are:

1. See what larger tires look like compared to stock and to other sizes.
2. Compare stock width wheels with wider wheels & a larger tire.
3. Determine how much width is added with wider tires and different offsets.

Good luck with your tire & wheel choice.

I had my 35x12.5 toyo open country rt trails mounted up at discount tire no problem, on my stock 17x8 wheels. Maybe depends on manufacturer. But yes, all manufacturers have recommended wheel widths. Ive ran 12.5” wide tire on 8” and 7” wide wheels for many years, never a problem.

I installed a Michelin Defender LTX MS2
LT295/70R18
Service Description: 129/126S
Load Range: E
Method wheel:
305-HD NV
9”x18” +18 offset
Back space 5.75”
4500 lb.
This combination fit almost flush with the fenders. I then installed a set of fender flares.

Hope this helps, Jerry

backspace was soo much easier then this silly offset

it used to be, you knew a 4 inch backspacing would clear and a 4.5 would not (just arbitrary numbers for this example)
didnt matter if you were running 6 inch wheels or 9 inch wheels, the backspacing never changed

now with this offset nonsense, it changes with the wheel width, its just dumb
