I have a 2012 Ram 1500, 5.7 with 2.5-inch leveling kit. Daily drive that I also load my quad in the bed once in a while. I have 2 questions. First: I just purchase 2 front/rear Bilstein 4600 shocks. Are there any other parts that I should get or use, or can I just use the existing hardware? Second: I want to also install new front/rear springs. Rears seem to be everywhere, fronts not so much. I am thinking about the Bilstein 36-286539 rear springs. They seem to give a 1-inch lift. I was going to replace the fronts with stock OEM and add a 1-inch spacer. Does anyone see a problem with this setup? Also any other parts I should replace for the springs or will the stock parts be good enough. Appreciate any help that you guys can offer.

If that 2.5" leveling kit consists of spacers on top of the front struts now is a good time to get rid of that.

If you have already ordered the 4600's, cool those are great quality struts - what I'd recommend is pick up Eibach E30-27-001-02-20 front springs, they give about 2.5" lift up front when used with the Bilsteins at the lowest ride height setting and will be a whole lot nicer ride and reliability than the spacer lift I assume you have in front now.

For the rear you can get Eibach E30-27-001-02-02 which lift the rear about an inch, and they are progressive rate springs with a little bit heavier load coils than OEM but a few lower-rate ride coils so they're not overly stiff.

For what it's worth I have this exact combo on my truck except 5100's rather than 4600s.

If you can afford it, a set of lift specific front control arms is a good idea with any front lift/level over 2" to ensure a perfect alignment. I have Readylift control arms (part 67-1500 or 67-1501, difference is bushing material I recommend the 1501's) and am happy with them, but several other manufacturers make quality lift arms too. Just make sure they are built for the lift not just heavy duty stock replacement.

This would be a better option. Spacer from what I've read don't work well on the front...

The 4600 Bilstein's don't have the different spring seat height settings, like the 5100's do.

The 4600 fronts have two ride height settings , stock tradesman height and stock outdoorsman height.

Thanks, I did not install the leveling kit, this was the one that was put on, not sure what the wedge piece went/goes. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000MAK4LS/ref=pe_175190_21431760_M3T1_ST1_dp_1

The wedge thing is supposed to go under the upper control arm to prevent overextension but really all of those parts need to go into the nearest recycling bin.
Thanks, I agree. I am having someone install the shocks/springs. Anything else I should get or need or will the existing hardware be reuseable?
