Looking at upgrading my OEM springs on my 2018 big horn to Tuftrucks but wasn’t sure which ones to get. Right now I have 1” spacers in the rear with bilstein 5100 shocks. Would adding the TufTruck 1223VT springs over extend the rear bilsteins? Everything I read about the bilsteins says they only go up to 1” and the TufTruck springs look like they add between 1-1.5”.

Awesome, thank you! Looking forward to having a little more support in the back when loading up.

Eibach springs gives you extra load and still adds 1” and works fine with those shocks. I ran that setup for a while

thank you! The one thing I like about the tuftruck springs is the added weight capacity they add to the tongue/bed along with the lift.

I’m also looking at doing these springs, I have 2” of sag on my warlock due to a bed cap and always having tools. Would this stiffer spring help in the sag? I already have airlift 1000hd bags but they didn’t help much

They should help. That’s why I am going to these over stock springs. 1) They give me the additional 1.5” lift I want and 2) they also increase bed capacity by 35% or so. Don’t quote me on that amount. But it should reduce sag. The company is very responsive to emails so I would reach out to them and confirm they are the springs you want.

I have the same Tuftruck springs with Bilstein 5100’s and 1” Daystar spacer ready to go into the rear, and gonna set the 5100’s I have waiting to go up front at 2.8. Glad to hear positive things about them and also that truck will sit level. Also putting in a set of Mevotech Heavy Duty UCA’s at the same time

Can you do the 1” spacers and the springs in the back with the 5100s? I was worried about over extending with just the springs since the 5100s say they accommodate up to 1” lift. Spacers and springs would put you at about 2.5”. Wouldn’t that over extend the 5100s?

I think I said I had the same springs as you but now that I look again, I have the variable spring BUT stock height. 1221v I think. I gotta check. So with the 1” spacer I should be fine, so long as that spring height is the same as stock. Thanks for putting that out there though. I really gotta check that.

The shocks are the initial limiting factor in the rear so when you lift a tire (or two) off the ground what stops your axle drooping any further is the shock absorber itself. People argue over whether or not that's good for the shock, but either way that's how Ram engineered it.

So there is no worry about overextending the shocks, they don't really care - but if you don't have much extension left that might lead you to a bit of a pogo stick ride character.

Longer shocks are available of course, like the Mopar 2" lift kit comes with longer rear Bilstein 5100's but they also include longer coil springs that remain under compression so they can't fall out at full droop, plus bumpstop spacers to protect the longer shock absorbers from bottoming out.

Thank you very much for that additional information!

Question sir - Are you running 5100 in front too, and they are set at clip location 8? I was going to run 6112 at clip location #7 to level the truck. Tuftruck 1223VTs and 5100 in rear. Thoughts?

front 5100's don't have 8 clip locations. They reuse the OEM coil springs so they don't need to include accommodations for different weights like the 6112's do.

So on 5100's there is stock height (bottom ring), stock height for outdoorsman (0.7") and then 3 more at 0.7" intervals above that. Since the factory coil springs are reused those lift amounts are fixed and produce the actual amount stated no matter the truck.

I am running the 1223V (stock height) and fox 2.0 rear shocks.

Love this set up, perfectly controlled and way better support when using the truck as a truck.

If you have a constant load in the bed you may want to look at different springs.

My truck squats way less when loaded, but my bed is empty 99% of the time.

I have a set of Tuftruck 1223V up for grabs...I swapped them out for the HD Coils (TTC-1223). Used Bilstein 5100's front and back as well as I swapped them out with 6112's up front.

How do you like the 6112s compared to the 5100s?

First impression was great improvement over 5100's and not as harsh of a ride. The 5100's were set at 2.8 and I also set the 6112's at 2.8 as I didn't want to lose any height and I was concern about the ride but it is much smoother and handles great. I only drove 30 miles and now it's parked so not a long-term review...great upgrade though!
