I did not. I don't intend to badmouth Amsoil; I have used their products for decades and will continue to use their ATF and gear lubes, but I am very disappointed in their SS 0W-40 oil's performance, at least in my Hemi. This oil is supposed to have a service life of up to 25,000 miles or 15,000 miles in severe duty use. Knowing how this oil's viscosity dropped so rapidly in only a 3,500 mile run (definitely severe duty use), I am in no hurry to put another one of their engine oils in this engine. This is just my experience and YMMV.
Stating the truth isn't badmouthing anyone. Amsoil seems to be get a lot of good press on youtube. Probably paid sponsorships I guess.
I recently saw a youtuber (legitstreetcars) putting Amsoil SS into his newly acquired Hellcat.
My own experience with Amsoil was a disappointment as well. Cheaper oils ran better in my engine.
If you're looking for a good 0w40 oil, I'd recommend Mobil 1 FS Euro 0W40. I've run it in my engine and frankly its good. I would recommend keeping the change interval to 5k or lower though, but I assume that its cheaper than Amsoil.
TBH, my experience with the Hemi tick has me doing one thing.. Only do 5k mile (approx 8000km) or higher oil change intervals only if Redline 5w30 is involved. Any other oil, stick to 3k (5000km). I'm finding this is the best strategy.

Amsoil is good stuff. Just because it doesn't eliminate the HEMI tick doesn't mean it isn't good. Most 0w-40 oils will become a 30 weight.

Lingenfelter recommends Amsoil Signature Series 0w-40 for one of their $13,495.00 engines and they chose Amsoil after testing other brands.

For what OCI? It's not that simple as saying oil=good, especially one with vii additive that shears, this produces varnish and acidic engine deposits, especially in piston ring grooves, causing rings to be stuck and lose their seal, reducing power and causing blowby.

I doubt Amsoil is using a cheap VII that would cause varnish. Not in the SS line.

Reports are that Mobil 1 FS 0W-40 does not shear at the rate that Amsoil does, I am not going to review the UOA you can do that.

I recall someone doing a UOA of HPL 0W-40 with similar results, perhaps it was Travis.

The point is that Amsoil 0W-40 is a known shearing oil, I would not use it. Free advice, do what you will with it. No need to debate facts with me.

What do you guys think, a fluke or did I happen to put some RL 5w30 that had Tin in it? Everything else looks great.

:)

The thing to remember fellas is this is a hemi tick ram but the wear numbers are as good as any non hemi tick ram, outstanding. There are a couple possibilities, I forget probably trav or Brian had info on tin catalyst in the production and I still believe travel containers is a possibility, it is in many brands Corey look up random voas.

What did you put back?

Lake Speed Jr. recently did a video talking about the new Amsoil blend oil and tin showing up in new oil formulations a certain molybdenum being used having it. If you watch the video below from 7:15 to 9:30 minute mark, he talks about it. I would not be getting to wrapped around the axle with that tin count you have with molybdenum amount that is in that oil.

This oil hpl super car 0w30 just looks like the best hemi oil on paper. As long as that 0w40 SS is keeping you quiet perhaps stay there, but with the forum discounts I think this is competitively priced as redline?

Kind of overbuilt for a short oci, I'd try and push this one at least a couple extra miles.

What is the price of M1 FS 0w40 for you guys in the US, in comparison to somethlng like Amsoil SS 0w40?

That was RL 5w30 that had a lot of towing on. They noted that it was thicker than normal most likely due to heat

Ah yes, the high tin levels in RL HP 5W30.
I too, had them in several samples and engaged the RL Rep on it.
It's here in our database of info in this and the Synthetic Oil Bible.. (I mean, thread..;))

That was my V_-i.r, g in.. oil sample analysis. (can you believe I had to do this to say this word..lol).

I opted for the TAN and TBN testing as well so we all could have a full spectrum starting point of knowledge with this specific oil.

Nice to see the report making its rounds in cyberspace adding to databases of fellow enthusiasts.

I was a "c-hair" away from my 10,000Km OCI with it, but then traded in my 19' for my new Warlock.

I suppose I'll have to try a 10,000Km OCI with it as my new truck is well broken in with 20,000Km's on her now, in the 7 months I've owned her.
