Stating the truth isn't badmouthing anyone. Amsoil seems to be get a lot of good press on youtube. Probably paid sponsorships I guess.I did not. I don't intend to badmouth Amsoil; I have used their products for decades and will continue to use their ATF and gear lubes, but I am very disappointed in their SS 0W-40 oil's performance, at least in my Hemi. This oil is supposed to have a service life of up to 25,000 miles or 15,000 miles in severe duty use. Knowing how this oil's viscosity dropped so rapidly in only a 3,500 mile run (definitely severe duty use), I am in no hurry to put another one of their engine oils in this engine. This is just my experience and YMMV.
I recently saw a youtuber (legitstreetcars) putting Amsoil SS into his newly acquired Hellcat.
My own experience with Amsoil was a disappointment as well. Cheaper oils ran better in my engine.
If you're looking for a good 0w40 oil, I'd recommend Mobil 1 FS Euro 0W40. I've run it in my engine and frankly its good. I would recommend keeping the change interval to 5k or lower though, but I assume that its cheaper than Amsoil.
TBH, my experience with the Hemi tick has me doing one thing.. Only do 5k mile (approx 8000km) or higher oil change intervals only if Redline 5w30 is involved. Any other oil, stick to 3k (5000km). I'm finding this is the best strategy.
