just removed my vararam, and am trying to find another breather filter that was included with the vararam.
the small one that goes by the oil filler on the engine.

any suggestions? is it something super special, or can i run down to autozone and find something similar.

Autozone sells a little filter just like it. I believe Sceptre brand but also others. You can go with an open element style or one like you have pictured. About $4-$8 depending.

There's lots of those little filters kicking around the parts stores. I used one of the 1.5" K&N breather filters on my '07 and a Green Filter on my '09, I just like the look of the open element filter compared to the shrouded ones like that.

It's just a standard push in breather. Should be $5 or less.

They should be cleaned every so often. I do mine every second time I wash my main filter.

With the enclosed type like yours you have to replace them, with an open filter like mine and the one SI posted they are cleaned and oiled just like normal cotton/oil filter.

I just replaced mine today ($7 autozone) cause I saw how dirty it was and this type of breather came with my VR which is about 3 years ago.

Now, I saw one I was going to purchase because of its looks. It said "high proformance" which I can't see how would this effect any proformance being that it's basically for pollution reasons (exhaling)?
