I think I may have a broken CV in the left front, not sure. I don't have 4 wheel drive, but I can still drive it. it has a clicking sound while driving. Does anyone know if this is a hard to fix item or what? I have to get it in a garage tomorrow and see if that is the problem or not.

We got quite a bit of snow today and I spent more time shoveling snow than anything else today.

Clicking noise doesn't mean broken per se. Shop in the morning and tell us though!

Yeah, clicking is likely that. They have entire axle shaft kits, they are bolt on. I can't say how hard it is because the shop did mine. The part is only like 100 or so for a pair. Definitely get the whole kit, don't even mess with trying to do a piece here or there. They come enclosed and prelubed. You already have 6 years on those axles, maybe just do both. If you're in snow state, chances are the other one is in bad shape as well. I don't even know if they sell one, if they do I guess that would be up to you.

I looked it up, they do sell them individually for around 60 bucks. But check and see if it all rusted out, that will tell you the other one is probably similar. If it's broke and not rusted, maybe you'll be good with one. These things are so cheap it hurts, this is the one item after seeing I really kick myself for not getting a 2500.

If your 4x4 isnt working look into the stub shaft and the axle. I just replaced mine on the right front stub and axle shaft due. The stub shaft strips out in th axle causing no 4x4 and noises

Mine was definitely the CV at the right front wheel.

As you can see, the hub part was worn totally out. The clicking I was hearing the shaft spinning in the hub.

I ended up replacing the stub shaft as well. I had a REALLY hard time getting it out of the shaft and ended up damaging the bearing and seal in the process. Since there is not an aftermarket option for this, I ended up at the dealer and paid 280 for the part. The guy asked if I wanted it, I was like, "I really don't have a choice do I".

Anyway, once I got the new stub shaft and went to work, it went together quickly and smoothly. Everything works fine now.

Thanks for the video, it helped, but was a bit late.
