Hey guys I know this is probably a dumb question. But I have searched and looked and can't find a answer. My wife bought me a bullydog tuner for Christmas and I am wanting to tune my truck but I'm short on extra time to hook it up to stay in vehicle. Is there any reason that I couldn't tune my truck for now and unhook it. Until I get the time to do the complete install? Thanks for the help guys.

if you are in the middle of it i would not unhook it. after you tune it it can be unhooked with no problem.

That's what I was thinking. Once I got it tuned. I thought there shouldn't be any reason not to be able to unhook it.

Yup. Just load the tune and your done. I never hooked mine up. FYI the first tune takes 30+ minutes. Make sure you don't turn on the radio or open the door or window while loading a tune.

Ok guys I got one more question. I tried installing the tuner tonight after work. But it keeps getting stuck on the unlocking vehicle screen. It will sit there for 5-10 minutes everytime I try to run the tune. How long should it take?

Have you downloaded the update agent from bullydogs website and updated the tuner?

Yeah I updated the tuner the end of last week. It's set to the truck and everything. It just gets stuck on the unlocking vehicle screen.

Try re updating it. When I had my 2012 1500 and installed the bullydog it took 4 or 5 trips from the truck to the computer before I was able to even get that far but never got stuck.

That should work if not hook the BD up to your computer with the USB cable and call BD Tec support. They will sort it out for you!

The first tune takes like 30 to 40 minutes. That being said you may have to call BD to get them to update the tuner.

Got it lined out guys. I hooked it to the computer and reloaded the tuner software. And it worked as soon as I plugged it to the truck. Thanks for the help guys.

Glad you got it to work. I don't know why it has to be such a process to get the tuner to work

Me neither. The one for my 2007 GMC was just plug in tune it and unplug. Simple as you could get.
