Got buried on a muddy forest rd what do you guys carry on the truck for situations like this we snapped one come along and had a guy bring another to get us out but were stuck for several hours also how do you manage traction control seems to kick in even when it's turned off. Tore off from air dam and broke a fender liner but that's all damage found so far

4 Lo will turn off the traction control.
Stock tires stand no chance in muck like that, nothing besides a winch would have helped you there (without another vehicle)

I have the dealer change the tires before I even drive the truck off the lot. this next truck will be my fourth, and its no exception. those goodyear wranglers are 4 ply pieces of *"/& and dont belong on a pick up.

When you have the truck in 4 high you can press and hold the traction control button until it displays in your evic that the tc is off. I'm not sure if this turns it all the way off or not but, it turns it off more than just pressing the tc button.

If they are the same SilentArmor tires you can buy at your local tire store, I don't know what it is you don't like about them. They are not mud tires but they get good traction in most everything else and they are quiet and they wear well. They are a decent truck tire. I was very happy with the set I had on my last truck and I may get a set for my new truck when the time comes. They aren't cheap so I am surprised Ram is putting them on at the factory (assuming they are the same). But if you off-roading a lot or otherwise need an aggressive tire that will clean itself in mud or deep snow, these are not the tires for you.

With that said, tires are like oil brands, automobile brands, and all those other things that lot of people have opinions about. I have not tested or owned a lot of tires, I only know that I was happy with the SilentArmor tires I used to have. They did what I needed and they wore well.

For the 20" rim trucks this is true but not these tires. They are 10 ply off road tires, probably the best tire on a vehicle from the factory out of all of the major brands. They are the best tires I have ever driven on in snow, I haven't taken them in mud but sand they were awsome too. Not too many tires will clean themselves out like mud tires do.
I would suggest 4 hi and holding the tcs button for 10 seconds. In mud you need a lot of wheel speed and 4 low won't give you that.

You just needed a faster running start and you would of shot right across that mud hole. Hit it wide open! :p

- winch
- carry four 4' lengths of 2x8 or 2x10 that you can wedge under the tires and give you a rolling start
- air down the tires
- phone a friend :)
