I was cruising down the road going 50mph when some douche beside me in his jaguar decides to pass me. I floored it for about 5sec until I noticed a burning odor coming from the truck. It finally went away after about 1min. I have no idea where to start in diagnosing this? My initially thought is transmission...

Any thoughts guys?

He never got close to passing me, and I was in front the whole time (it was a merging lane and I saw him trying to pass in my rearview). I tried to pull over, but there was no where to pull off at until 5miles down the road, which the smell was gone then

Wasn't rubber or coolant, not sure of the smell of burnt oil but I just had a oil change couple weeks ago. It was def a strong noticeable smell

If you drive your truck like its supposed to be driven you will probably never smell them but if you are the type to grandfather it all the time right after a good work out if you get out of the vehicle you could smell a sulphery burning smell. I doubt it was that though, most likely left overs from your recent oil change

You ran over a Prius clown-car. It's cooking the occupants up against your exhaust manifold.
