Buying used 100k miles?

I wouldn’t do it. I think you can do better. If you put 20 or 30 thousand miles more on it and your $40,000 investment will be worth next to nothing. IMO

I have a 2013 Ram 3500 Laramie my 45,000 dollar investment is still worth 24,000 with 600,000 miles on it according to my local ram dealership that wants to get me to trade fora new vehicle.

Yeah, it's wild hearing some of these mileage / value concerns on the heavy-duty forum. I like my 2017 PW, but I also have been a longtime Toyota Land Cruiser owner and, in that community, people routinely pay good money for well-kept Land Cruisers with 200K+ miles on them without batting an eye. The Toyota 4.7 and 5.7 V8s just seem to run forever. I'm closing in on 300K with just routine maintenance.

I read that during its development / engineering the 6.4 HEMI truck engine had a target service life of at least 300K miles without needing a rebuild --- so I had high hopes for my PW's engine. The 6spd on the other hand, I knew was a POS going into it. Still, usually reliability & longevity translates to good resale value when it comes to the used autos market...
