Now that sounds like a good idea Would make it way easier^^^^ I used an xacto knife blade insert in my cheap Amazon soldering iron and it worked great

From what I have read some 16/17 had the door and cut out but no CAF :O SO you may just need the filter !There is a door behind mine. It has 2 tabs on it. Gonna mess with it tomorrow

Yea some cheap ass crap they pull ! I read several post saying the the cover and hole there but no CAF :O Bet some ****** got a nice raise for the $$$ he saved :O^^^^^^ Unbelievable that the factory would cut the box and put a lid on it and then NOT put a filter in. Cheap ********!!!!!!!! The bean counters strike again.

I agree not really hard and not real easy but it was a pain to do lol I see your Newport News , Been there several times. I was stationed Norfolk on a LKA and Little Creek on a Fleet TugFinally did mine...no idea why people say it is easy.....I'm right handed, and I had to do it all with my left hand........not pretty, but it works and don't leak.

Pretty cool you work in the yards I almost stayed in Charleston to work in the yards when I got out ! But all the family was up north ,so back we went ! Thank You for your service !I was stationed at *** almost all my career....always on carriers.....now I build & test them before we give them to the navy.
