CAI installed - problem, need help!

Hi all,

I have just finished installing a fleabay CAI in my 06 5.7, the install went smooth enough, however, I can't put any throttle down without getting an electronic throttle control light start blinking and the truck wont accept any throttle input from the pedal, just stays at 1000rpms. At idle it will rev, but, on the road, its a no go...what did I break??

What is the code number that comes up? Any chance that you sucked something into the motor while installing this?

Did the 3 key turn trick, but it just comes back "done" on the odo. No codes are displayed.

Put the stock intake system back on, everything works just fine. Guess I will stay stock for now . At least there is a lesson learned in this...don't go cheap

I have used the ebay kits before, and while I never had the problem you mentioned, they never showed gains that came anywhere close to what you would get from a quality kit.

I was after more sound that hp gains, back in England I was pretty heavily into the Japanese tuning scene with my Skyline, so, don't put much stock in HP claims when it comes to intakes , will return this one and get myself a Volant I think.

Great choice. Another option to look at is the S&B intake for your truck. It is very similar to the Volant at still under $300. I have both the Volant and S&B in stock, so dont hesitate to ask if you have questions about either.

Make sure the IAT sensor is oriented properly. The bulb needs to be perpendicular to the airflow. It may not be reading the air correctly.
