Can anyone provide any input on the cam options out there? (5.7 8 speed, 3.92 gears)
1. Inertia motorsports (local)
2. Arrington
3. Comp cams
4. Moe's
5. Jay Greene

I'm looking for more hp and torque, would like to keep the lower rpm power tq about the same and increase the top end as much as possible while keeping mds and vvt.

It looks like most of these companies provide cams that will work with mds, and vvt, but most use a phase limiter. How much does that affect tuning, mpg, power, and throttle response?

If I'm going to upgrade the cam, maybe heads, and run nitrous, should I go up the 1 7/8 headers? Still trying to get ARH to send me a decent set...

I believe only jay greenes cam keeps full use of the vvt. Moes or jays stg 1 should be your 2 options.

Local? Inertia may close but there are better options. Stu's tuning leaves a lot on the plate.

Edit: Friend of mine had the VVT Spartan installed at Indrtia. He was very disappointed in the performance. Had to install a 3000 TC to get into the powerband(recommended with most cams). He ended up getting Jay to tune it and was happier. But wished he had went else where for the cam. It was pretty mild. Just do your research so your not disappointed.

Question, was he not planning on upgrading the TC? when running a auto trans and swapping cams around your TC is the first thing you get to compliment the cam. They work hand in hand and should be a major part of picking a cam.

I'm guessing no. And I totally agree. I did the TC first.
