So my truck died on me the other day, plugged it in and threw a code for the cam shaft synchronizer sensor. Got it towed home, and replaced the sensor, and threw in a brand new battery. Truck STILL won’t start (turns just fine, just won’t start) I hate having to do it, but I may have to bring it to a garage as it still keeps throwing the same code even after clearing it. Thoughts?

What is the actual code that was set? Should be P then 4 numbers. Also just cause the dtc has camshaft position sensor in the name doesn’t mean that’s the fault. Still have to perform diagnostics to find out if that’s actually the problem. A dtc just gives you a direction to go in, it doesn’t tell you what to replace.

So the problem was figured out, and it was huge. I ended up getting a whole new motor. My timing belt snapped and sent pieces of it, the guide, and even the bolt holding the guide all throughout the motor and into the oil pan. I don’t know how I didn’t hear it happen when it did. But, $8,500 later, I got my truck back ‍♂️
