Can these marks on the 8.4 screen be polished out?

Hay All, Can you use LCD screen cleaner that you use on your Computer screens, I use it for that, can it be used on our 8.4 screen, and then put the screen protector from Mopar on it.

Yes but it's best not to use any liquids if possible. If you need to get it cleaned for a screen protector, spray the cleaner on a microfiber cloth, then clean (don't spray it directly on the screen).

I bought my screen protector a week before I took delivery of my new truck !
I also bought a dash cover mat and slush mats for the truck prior to delivery and installed on the day of pickup !
I think about these things ahead of time

I'm not sure how this happened, but it was clearly while installing the Kicker amp, and running the t-harness. It's only visible in certain light and the pic looks worse than it does in person, it looks more like the spot circled in red. Is that some coating scratched, because I don't feel anything. Again I can only see it in certain light, but I don't like it. Glass cleaner did nothing to help it.

I know this is an older thread, but I just noticed my radio doing the same. Did you have any luck with the warranty covering the issue?

Thank you brother. I already have it sitting in my cart. I just was curious if I should try and have Ram fix it before I install the screen guard.

Couldn't hurt to ask them I suppose?

I haven't brought it back to the dealer yet, but I can say it looks much worse now in the course of a few months than in that pic. Basically once it starts, it deteriorates quickly. I need to get to the dealer here pretty soon. I'll report back how it was handles after I do. My truck is still well under warranty, 13 months old and about 9800 miles, but I need to quit putting it off.

Sounds good. Mine is also 13 months old, but I have 12400 on the clock with 60 percent of that being towing.

I may try the protector first if it covers up the problem. I have read of a number of people having problems with some of the 8.4 Uconnect radios locking up. My has been flawless so far and I would hate for them to replace it with some refurbished radio only to have problems with the functionality.

Agreed. I polished most of my issues out with toothpaste and put a screen protector on. Pretty much cleaned up my problems. After reading about some of the issues with replacement radios, I will not be bringing this up to the dealer unless there are other issues with it.

I just received a uaq from a car-part.com vendor. Screen looked like about half of the factory screen protector was worn off. I used rubbing compound to remove the rest. Now just glass. f97f3c73b49df47d4dc820fd80090b45.jpg655db6d1a4d1c649d8635c4c01fcce1b.jpg

I recommend this protector for a factory like anti-glare (but better). Apply with the radio out and/or the HVAC bezel off as it covers the whole screen...

I tried tempered glass, all I see is finger prints and wife breasts...

i can see fingerprints too but no matter how hard I look I can’t see your wife’s breasts. I keep a little cleaning cloth and give it a quick wipe now and then but I rarely touch the screen. I use steering wheel controls for channel changes and no navigation so no need to really touch it.
