Cargo camera install

@haleme. Where did you get your camera harness, or did you make it yourself, if self made how hard was it to make?

@ric221 I bought the RCA harness from Grimm. His site is here: M2 Mods and the rest of the wiring came with the camera I purchased from Amazon.

I just wrapped up my cargo camera install using the harness and guidance from Grimm. Put the smallest diameter camera I could find directly into the CHMSL and then cabled to the radio. Also replaced all three lights with LEDs to keep the heat in the stop light area down. Easy as that.

Side note.
I don't normally like to rag on companies that are trying to support our community, but I did originally purchase the cargo camera kit from Tailgatecamera.com. They took a $45 Dorman replacement CHMSL, replaced the stop light with a very weak LED, drilled a hole and glued in a $15 camera, then called it a day. Upon delivery, I was completely disappointed with the quality of the work and immediately returned the cargo camera for a full refund. The original Brand Motion cargo cameras were custom molded to hold the camera and only cost $150 two years ago. Unfortunately, Brand Motion has discontinued this cargo camera. If the tailgatecamera.com kit was $100 to $125 tops, I would have been inclined to keep it and use it, but they charged me $300. Complete rip off. Be careful with them.

Do you remember what pins where for the cargo cam on the back for the radio? I have a 2016 with a 2018 radio. I pretty much set mine up exactly the same as yours, just trying to figure out what pins to install now

Reposting info here in a separate thread with more detail for anyone interested... 2 LockPicks have failed on me so I won't go that route again. I had every input on the LockPick in use so I was left with a Digital TV tuner and front/cargo/left/right cameras inoperable. @Mpgrimm2 let me...

Just realized I didn't mention the pins in that thread. FOr me it was 24 and 25...this site will help you identify it for your truck (filter on "Radio C1")
