Unfortunately the catch cans only work on the 4th gens. The 3rd gens have an internal PCV system, so this setup will not work the same.

Your motor is designed to pump hot oil out of your crankcase vent, and then routes it back into your intake to be burned off. The problem with this is that the oil that is pushed back into your intake will collect on your throttle body and gunk up the motor. With this catch can, the oil will collect at the bottom of the can, and you simply uncrew it every now and then and dump that junk out of there. You will then have a much cleaner, better performing motor with the catch can installed.

Is it difficult to install

Install is very easy, and each catch can comes with install instructions. This is usually a 30 minute install. There is 1 bolt that mounts the can to the motor using the supplied Z bracket, and then you just remove the pcv hose and replace it with the new hoses included with the can. The picture below basically explains the entire install. Shows where the can mounts and where the hoses are routed.

We set our pricing lower than if you were to buy direct from BT, and we have these in stock. When ordering from BT direct, there is usually a couple day lead time before the unit ships as they rarely keep these on the shelf.

Yes it will. There are tons of guys running them with their Vararam intakes.

I've had one of these on my G8 for 4 years and don't regret it one bit. The amount of oil and moisture it catches is NUTS. Winter with cold remote starts means I see moisture which means I need to clean it out in the middle of a 7500 mile oil change interval whereas in the summer I can make it all the way through 7500 miles and there's only about a quarter cup of oil in it.

Not the same engine, but I'm running a Vararam on my G8. It has nothing to do with the intake type on the LS motors.

I will be buying one for my RAM when I get it.

I never knew what one of these were till I read this thread the other day. So I ordered one for my F-150. With 500 miles on the truck ... this should be one of the best investments I have made.
Anyone that wants there truck to have a healthy long life .. get one.

Dave, you will be very happy with the catch can. Its funny how many of these I sell to guys that have just purchased a throttle body. They buy the TB, go to install it, and then see all the crap that is caked on the TB blade. Next day, I see an order for a catch can...haha.

This is a great investment for your engine knowing that it will be kept clean on the inside.
