Finally had a good day off to install my can. My question is the 90* barbed fittings do not tighten in the correct direction they need to be in. Is that ok? I put plumbers tape around the threads... seen others do this

Ok, I don't know much about this. What is a catch can? It catches oil but why is it needed and oil from where?

The vapor from your PCV valve is routed to your intake.
There is always some oil mixed in with the vapor.
The catch can installs inline on that PCV line to trap the oil.
Results in cleaner air delivery for performance and less intake fouling, but adds draining the catch can as a periodic maintenance item.

I agree with all of the above which also results in maintaining the octane rating of your fuel.

But will you have to constantly add oil to the motor? How dose that free up power? I seen on here that it ment the difference between 10hp with a tuner?

No, the few ounces of oil that you drain from the catch can is negligible compared to the 7 quarts in the engine. With or without the catch can it is still coming out. The difference is where it is going. Without a catch can, the oil from the PCV is going directly down your engine intake.

Because the actual amount of oil coming out of the PCV is never consistent, it has the effect of varying the octane of your fuel mixture. Grabbing the oil into a catch can benefits by making the intake air consistently clean and, therefore, easier to accurately tune your engine for.

The catch can doesn't cause the oil to come out of your PCV valve. That is already happening. It just stops it from entering your air intake.

Hope that makes sense.

It goes on the engine. Tranny option shouldn't matter. Go to the link I posted and enter you model year.

Depends. Watch it for the first month. That should give you an idea after that.

If you have to enter something, enter the 6-speed. Its the same as the 5 speed externally.

BTW - the link I posted was direct to the manufacturer. I think Moe's carries them too if you're more comfortable dealing with them for customer service.
