Hello all, so the water pump on my 2013 Ram 1500 5.7 hemi went out and I just finished installing the new one. I filled the radiator with a 50/50 mix of coolant and started the truck to let it run and add coolant as needed. Well shortly after I started the truck coolant started getting pushed back out of the fill cap (I did not put the radiator cap back on). So I turned the truck off and back on. Let it run for a while thinking maybe it was just some trapped air and to let the thermostat open and get into the motor. Well the more it ran the worse it was being pushed out the radiator. I let it get up to about 150 degrees before I decided to shut it off and see if I could figure out if that’s normal or if something is going on. Now I’m stumped because I can’t find any information online about it and I’ve done jobs before where coolant was drained and needed to be refilled and didn’t have this issue. So can someone tell me if this sounds like just air trapped in the system or if I have something else going on? I took and video and will try and upload it or put it on YouTube and link it here. Thanks for any help anyone can provide in advance!
