Dayum. Definitely not a daily driver's converter. Sounds like you're planning on a ~3500rpm launch. You gonna have 2-step/launch control on this beast? Trans brake?

I had a 3600 on my 5.7 and It drove perfectly fine like my 3400. I drove it to work, meets, shows. So 200 rpm won’t make a difference. I have a trans brake

This is my 5.7L HC, FBO,4.56 gears with a circle D 3600 billet converter on 24” wheels. It drove fine with a 3600 and even better at WOT.

Guess the info I got was wrong, then. Then again, the dude only said HE wouldn't run more than a 3200 for a true daily driver, or above 2800 if he was gonna tow and haul, still.

Badass run, dude. That thing is quick in 5.7 form...

I always tell people it depends on the cam when choosing a stall speed. I used aftermarket oil lines, deep pan, 1 ton cooler and manual shifted every time I raced or went WOT and my 545rfe handle well for 4 yr before I removed it for the 4l80 and 468 build.

I used oem cooling lines, 1 ton cooler, stage lll vb and manually shifted my 545 and always turned off od when playing. I never hurt that transmission. The 46rh I replaced it with is built for abuse and performs like new after 3 years of hard use. It'll soon have a 3500 stall MS billet converter replacing the current 3200 Edge (600hp) billet converter. Careful planning prevents unnecessary or unexpect damage.

I used -6an line from my cooler to my transmission. Those tiny metal lines to me weren’t cutting it so didn’t hurt to upgrade and with all my racing I never had a issue with a 3600/3800 9.5” converter that many day will produce more heat the bigger the stall speed.

How much are the converters for the 46rh? The billet one and how high can they make them?

Hmm I may need to look into that. I’ve got a deep trans pan, an 1 ton cooler but after last trans failure I put a stock converter in with junkyard trans. Coming up on 30k miles now I don’t want to pull this trans for a converter til I need to pull the whole thing out to be replaced I know I’m on borrowed time. But am impressed how long it’s lasted

I don't know what is the maximum stall available is. I spoke with Martin and red being a street truck I believe we will settle on 3500. Cost wise I $1200 will buy a converter suitable to use with a transbrake.

I’ll ask around locally, but what converter do I have? Have u talked to jay or get a inertia srtmax which is a 218/222 close to the comp 268 216/220. I ran 12.4 with the srtmax and very good low end as well

I thought there was a 268 for sale on HTC. Might have to browse the for sale section on there

Would you say an srtmax would be a good cam for a 2wd QCRB daily driver that would still see normal truck duties(if rarely)?
