code readers

does a "regular" code reader read the fault codes on the 2004 5.7 hemi? I have a ford F 250 diesel also and it takes a certain type reader......

I have torque pro and an OBD II bluetooth device ELM 327. guess I should have put that on the first post....... It reads no codes. But, the engine will hardly idle and has no power, skips, runs very rough. It's my daughters truck. I know nothing about these trucks.......I'm a Ford guy!

Torque pro will read them, not sure if it will read ABS or airbag codes but will read everything else.
