Thanks you guys who are sharing your real-world experience. Its like this, Im not over-reacting to anything, Im only trying to be smart. Ive PM'd several guys here who already have a HD RAM and they understand the thinking process Im using here, and also some guys who likewise are looking at ordering too and likewise just trying to be smart and look before you leap. These kinda forums all contain the same usual cast of characters, some guys who are brand-faithful fan-boys and turn a blind-eye to problems, some just gotta have the latest and greatest and cycle thru trucks like changing socks, you got guys who arent too bright and buy stuff without using their head and will go to great lengths to rationalize their own purchase by telling others they outta do what they did, and you got guys who are pragmatic and use their head, not only about trucks, but everything they do. That doesnt mean that any of the viewpoints are bad or anyones is any better than the other, we are all entitled to an opinion and I appreciate everyone who has chimed in. I just happen to be one of those dudes in the latter group who researches and thinks everything through on anything I do, Im not trying to be a nuisance. Im actually a Mopar guy if you get right down to it, I own a '09 QC 6.7 now and have a long history of owning and racing Mopar products. But even though I bleed Hemi orange, Im gonna do the research and make sure if I go and order something Im not gonna get hung with problematic model, because all brands make a **** now and then. I mean, while you ordering, why not use your head and steer away from a headache? Warranty or not, I hate being hassled with dealing with buggy vehicles and going to/from the dealer ironing out petty issues that I might be able to avoid by doing my homework. I live in the country and its not like city folks who have everything just a few blocks away. Its a trek to get to the city. All brands put new features on at times, (MDS, electronic axles, coil rear suspension in this particular case) that benefit from time in the field to be bug free. Its always been that way. (remember the first incarnation of the 2007.5 Cummins 6.7 emissions? They finally conceded and went DEF anyway)

Anywho, I really appreciate each of you fellas for chiming in, Im not discounting anyones opinion and grateful for your taking time to reply. We are headed out now to go test drive a few more and see if they 'clunk' too. LOL Have a great weekend.

Well said! If I've learned anything from all the forums I've been a member of, it's this: people who encounter problems with their product will always post about the issues and people who don't have problems are much more likely to motor along quietly! As well as, there are always people who try to make you feel stupid for thinking through a $50,000 decision.....BEFORE you make it! brush them off without a thought!

I just ordered my Ram 2500 6.4 a couple weeks ago, and, having been a Chevy guy for many many years, believe me, I put a lot of sleepless nights into the decision! I just hope any issues are small and infrequent!

I've had great luck with Chevy products, including a cylinder deactivation system that is completely invisible, but, in my opinion, basically worthless. I think Ram has come a long way in building a quality product and I'm hoping they have been and will be proactive in addressing issues as they develop!

Are you going to order a S/B or LB ?
When I order mine I will more than likely go with Long Bed 4x4 and with the cab lights. Now I'm trying to choose between Big Horn or Long Horn.
Big horn to longhorn? Haha that's a hell of a jump! Usually it's between Laramie or longhorn lol.

I have a longhorn and I love it! I was debating either a Laramie or a longhorn. For the few extra grand I'm so happy I went longhorn!

To the OP - congrats! Hope you get the mod bug, I never tire of seeing sweet modded HD's!

I meant to put Laramie. I guess they only sell the Long Horn in Texas.
From what a salesman told me, but who knows what he's saying is true or not.
When we bought our RV the salesman told us about a lady that bought the same model and that she had teenage a boy and a teenaged girl, and that the Storage compartment was big enough to put a couple of kids in. (to tell the truth yes it is) Any way She bought it so her son would have his own bedroom. (ya sure)
Any way I was back at that dealership having some work done on our RV. I was sitting outside and there was this couple listening to another salesman......"he was telling them the same story".
So I guess you don't trust anything the sales people say.

No the longhorn is sold everywhere lol. It's the tier above the Laramie

BigHorn/Lonestar.

The Lone Star is supposedly only sold in Texas.

Yeah Bighorns are on the lower end of the scale, with Lonestars being on the higher end. I think Bighorns are only above Express and Tradesman.

Bighorn is identical to Lonestar.
It's just Lonestar is only available to order in Texas and Bighorn is every other state.

You know. After reading these posts. I guess I'm a lucky one. I was one of the first to get a 2014 Ram 2500 4x4 Crew Cab with 6.4L HEMI with rear coils. And I have yet to have any issues like described in the OP. Rear coil noise, 3rd break light leak, MDS issues and the popping sound when flexing the suspension. And I got mine in mid December 2013. And have over 25,000 miles on it now.

Your third brakelight could be leaking and you not even realize it, wrecking your headliner, causing mold etc etc.

I have almost the exact same story in my introduction here! Came from almost exclusively driving GM trucks.

Happy so far with my decision, and I did a lot of research before buying.

It's only been about a month, but this truck is amazing!

Are you getting the Lifetime Warranty?

You know, Im not sure. I will need to read the fine print on that thing to see how many holes are in it. Thats a lot of money for them to sit on, and the truck should be bumper-to-bumper for the first 3 years anyway and the drive train 5/100,000. Its been my experience those warranties are chock fulla caveats and fine print to burn your ass once you finally need it. They dont sell those things to do anyone a favor, they sell them to make money. And Ive not seen an insurance company anywhere that wont exhaust EVERY avenue possible to get out of paying someone.
