As others I've seen on here, all the chrome on my bighorn was too much for my taste. I debadged the doors and tailgate, and installed smoked quads which gave me the push to replace the grill w/ color matched & honeycomb inserts. All of the conversions I saw on here either painted the bumpers or swapped to color matched, which was out of my budget. I like the idea of steel bumpers, truck came with polished running boards, and I just put sport wheels on it- so I'm okay with the polished metal look low, all the way around.

I couldn't find any pictures on here other than a 2500 so I thought I'd share. I also bought the black plastic door handle covers from ebay and had them sprayed while the grill was being done (not yet installed, so we'll see how they work out).

I too have the Big Horn and started out like you changing the grill shell, but left the inserts alone.
This was after I added the Sport Wheels, new truck takeoffs, when I bought the truck and then the flares.
Recently I had the bumpers and side steps vinyl wrapped. This week I added the door handle overlays you bought. Should have bought the Sport instead to start.

Did you get your flares already color matched? Or did you have to get them wrapped/painted?

Thanks

I bought the flares from a guy on another Ram forum. They came from a '13 Ram and I had them painted.

I did consider keepin the horizontal grill inserts, but decided against it with the bumpers staying chrome, also hoped they would help sell the old grill, although its still sitting in my garage. Wrap looks good in the photos- I'm curious to know how well it holds up- I don't think I could ever find a match for maximum steel so wrap would be out of the question for me... finish it off and get the smoked headlights!

I like it! Lights look good too!

Thanks, I was really excited about the lights when I got them- and when I put em on was let down they didn't look right with a big old mirror between them... but now I'm happy and wont look back.

Stuck on the door handle covers this weekend too- although I didn't take new pictures. They look pretty good considering its a stick on, time will tell if they hold up through new england winters.

Thanks! Still pleased with it- door handle covers have held up great so far.. wish I could say the same for the grill, I'm starting to see the previous silver color come through from rock chips (although very minor). Wishing I asked for extra coats of clear, may consider clear bra wrap before its noticeable, I over paid for the paint job so it hurts to see 6 months later!

@micbegls1 @BrIgthWte17Ram I got them on ebay from "beyond basik" seller, the link is dead but this one is similar. Search their store for variations, 4 door, keyless entry, etc. Since I have a big horn, only the actual handle is chrome- so I only used half of this kit, I can't speak for fitment with both cover pieces installed. Hope this helps!
