Good morning! I'm having trouble getting my command start to work. Fresh battery in fob. Nothing happens at all when trying to use the fob. It's on a 2014 Ram Sport 1500. Any tricks on how to make it work?

Yeah, worked just fine before. Lights don't even blink. The fob still locks and unlocks the doors and the lights blink, it's when I want to start it, nothing happens.

Is there a check engine light on? or it's possible there is a problem with the hood switch ?

It also might have something to do with the coolant or oil pressure.

1. Unlatched Hood: An unlatched/open hood will prevent the remote start procedure.

2. Check Engine Light : If the (‘Check Engine Light’) is illuminated, the remote start system will not work. One of the reasons the light can illuminate is due to a loose gas cap! Reseal the cap, restart the car.

3. Coolant and Oil Pressure: Double check your engine coolant and oil temperatures: If the engine coolant temperature is too high or the oil pressure is too low, the remote start is disabled!

Hello PatL,

Thank you for reaching out. I am terribly sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Ram. If you end up going into the dealer, let us know. We're available via direct message and would be happy to escalate while you're in service.
