Hi gang, I'd like to replace my factory speakers with something that'll give me more richness to my audio. I've got a 2016 1500 Crewcab Outdoorsman with the large screen Uconnect, but sub-par audio and no subwoofer (6 speaker system).

I just upgraded from a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the premium sound and factory sub, so i'd like to try to duplicate the sound quality I was getting from that system in my Ram. I miss the little bit of thump i had with the factory sub, but am not really interested in installing a sub in the Ram.

I'm considering the following:

Kicker 43CSC354s (3.5" 2 way) for my dash speakers
Sony XS-FB1330s (5.25" 3-way) for my front doors
and
Pioneer TS-G690s (6x9 3-way) for my rear doors

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm happy with the price point of all of these speakers, but would happily spend a little more for a much improved sound if it is within reach.

I def would not go 5.25" in the fronts. 6.5" at minimum, 6x9 ideal, and in that scenario I would move to components and put the tweeter where the 3.5" would go. I would also rears factory. If your budget allows, I would then add in a small amplifier like the Alpine PowerPack and bridge it onto the componenets. These cover your budget for all three speakers: https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_116645_JBL-Club-9600C.html If you went the Powerpack route, their RMS is exact amount of the power pack bridged (If interested I have one of these I am trying to get rid of )

Here are more 6x9 component options https://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat...ers.html?category_id=193&sort_order=price_asc

Stay with 6x9s unless you are running full amps and subwoofer. There are plenty of 6x9's out there that will fit and will keep up with the low end, although does not negate the need for a subwoofer.

The front 3.5's there is a resistor trick that you will need to do or they will suck all the power from the front door 6x9's and make it sound worse.

when I did my speaker upgrade (all kickers) I was told that I couldn't put 6x9 in the front due to depth issues....however, with a 1/4" spacer I was able to fit the Kicker 6x9 in the front and rear doors. Just fyi...because crutchfield will not tell you about this since they don't for some reason sell the spacer brackets. Just order them off ebay. see my other posts about this if you need more information....and an EASY way to install a subwoofer using high level inputs off your speaker wire in the B pillars.

^^This...something to consider with your speaker choices, all the speakers listed have a tweeter built into the design (2-way, 3-way) and you'd end up with 6 tweeters in the system which could produce a harsh listening experience especially at higher volume levels. No need to have anything over two tweeters, and those tweeters should be in front of the listener

I put the 3ohm Infinity 3.5's in my dash (all three spots) and they sound great. Then I decided to upgrade the rest of it. I've now got Alpine Redline 6x9's in all the doors. I run a four channel amp in the front to the 6x9's and 3.5's, a smaller amp runs the rear door speakers, and a third amp runs two 12's in a Foxbox. Off the 8.4 Nav I have the PAC Audio adapter. Sounds amazing!!!

I would find some component 6x9 and put the mid in the front door, tweets in the dash. Run that off the power pack bridged. Leave the rears on the head unit power. I think that would give you more bass than a 6.5 and certainly more than 5.25.
