Ten To The Ninth

Both times towing my 20' travel trailer. Once going uphill, once going downhill. Both times I heard a bang, then I got a high engine temp alarm and pulled over to see that the fan threw 2 to 3 blades, and ruined the shroud, and gashed the radiator causing a leak. Does anyone have any idea why this happens. I don't want to replace all that stuff again if it's just going to happen again. Thank you.
