I've dug around , and really can't find any rough estimates
2017 2500 Laramie 6.7 with 68k miles
Roughly what would I expect to pay to have both diff's and xfer case fluid service?

I'm going to be doing the work myself, but just curious what it would cost in the real world

Changing lube is a job any decent shop can do. This might be a situation where you buy your own synthetic oil and take it in. Talk to the shop in advance ...use the ole story you were going to do it, but getting slammed at work, (that's a true statement). Reason i say take your own lube is b/c most shops are going to sock it to ya on synthetic. Parts stores charge a lot for it, whereas Walmart sells full synthetic fluid inexpensively. Plus then you know exactly what's in it. I don't use many Walmart oils but I've been using their synth lube since the late 90's in various vehicles (incl my current ram). Never had a problem, ever. Or, you could let the shop procure the lube handle everything. Shouldn't take that long to do. Call and get a few estimates.

(above used as an example, double-check the weight your tk needs)

I'll agree with Cheechdog. about $400.

If you do your own maintanence and haven't already, I'd change out your case covers to ones with drain bolts. makes the fluid change almost as quick and easy as an oil change.

I just changed out my rear diff this morning. Mytivac it out the drain hole and fill it back up using a little pump. I use 75W90 Redline for the last 60K miles with absolutely 0 issues. Get a pry bar to loosen the fill bolt. It's an easy job. Youtube Marion Blair; his maintenance videos are awesome. The transfer case is even easier; I stuck with OEM fluid. If you Mytivac out the diffs it takes no time at all; pump fluid back in is a pain though. Just a suggestion.

My Mytvacs have pretty small catch bottles. I'd think it would take a while to drain the differential with those, since you'd have to depressure and dump the bottle a bunch of times. Are you guys using a larger catch bottle?

Thanks. Do you have a link? I have some Mityvac's, but none will work w/o a sealed catch bottle. I see there are bigger reservoirs for the Mityvac though, so may just order one of those.

It should cost you nothing as RAM recommends a change interval of 120,000 miles for this truck. Metals have improved as have lubricants and so change intervals are longer which saves owners money if they are smart enough to take advantage of the improvements.

My SUV has a change interval of the engine oil of 7500 miles but the lube joints recommend changin it out every 3,000 miles. Considering that I am already buying very expensive 100% synthetic motor oil it would be foolish to go with the recommendation of the quick lube people and ignore the manufacturer's service schedule. 50 years ago a 3k oil change made sense but it makes no sense today.

Recently had the rear differential fluid changed at the dealership. The newer ZF diffs have separate drain and refill plugs. The labor cost was $88.43. I used Mopar differential fluid.

At $150/hr some shops are charging now and 500% markup on supplies, I wouldn't be surprised at $600 for oil/fluid changes on those 3 items. $300-400 seems "cheap" IMO.

All my service is done in my own shop, allowing for beverage and b.s. session breaks, usually a couple of three beers for general fluid changes Plus cost of fluids, which are always purchased on sale.

Yeah I was planning on doing it myself. But was just curious
I don't trust dealerships to do this any more

There are two prices for that work. Arm and a leg or bend over. ;)
