2017 ram express 4x4. First truck

I want to put a 2.5 inch leveling kit on the front and then get me some 35’s. Should I have any worry regarding rubbing?

Also, can I use my stock 20 in. wheels? On a budget with my first kid commons soon.

thanks y’all

When I bought my truck, it had a 4” rough Country lift on it and 35” tires and I can see where the previous owner had to do some trimming. So, I would think you would have to do some trimming to get 35” tires on your truck.

I’ve seen some YouTubes with a leveling kit and 35s. I’d prefer 35s over 33s to get a bigger bang for my buck. Anyone have suggestion on tires?

also, anyone know if 35s will fit on a stock 20 inch rim.

thanks

I’m loving my ProComp Sport AT2 from 4 wheel parts. They’re lighter and cheaper than the BF Goodrich AT KO2 which were my previous favorites. Plus they handle better in the snow and rain than the KO2s.

this in not helpful

It is exactly as helpful as offering the suggestion that if you have a kid coming and money's already tight, a more expensive tire that will result in worse fuel mileage might not be the most wise choice a person can make.

Enjoy your lift and tires though

I was fitting 315/70/17 Falken AT3W on mine with a simple 2” front lift with Rancho QL struts, aftermarket ucas running higher caster than stock and 17x9 -12 offset without issues (Setup rubbed the seam pinch with factory 3.5* caster, cleared with colors at 4.5*)

as it was indicated, we have a sticky thread at the top of this section called
“Guide to Leveling & Wheel and Tire Sizing for 06+ 4wd Ram 1500's”

You should start there as it covers all the basics for what you’re looking to do. You should be able to run 285/65/20 with 2” or 35x12.5/20 with 2.5” without issues. If it rubs is just plastic for the most part. If you pay more attention to details you can run big tires without much drama. We are blessed with big fender wells :)
