Ok after seeing this idea (might have to actually try something similar to this by taking out the center jump seat), I came up with an idea for the back seat.

The only things that ride in the back seating area are the dogs and our grandson when we pick him up.

For the dogs we raise the rear seat bottom and they lay on the rear platform that I built.

They love the room like the above pic, but when we get the grandson(still in booster seat), the seat comes down. One gets the seat and the other gets area where the feet would go.

Here is the question, is the rear 60/40 rear seat modular? I would like to keep the 40 just for him and remove the 60 portion. In other words, would the 40 part be free standing.

When I did the folding rear seat mod, I see the hooks for the 60/40 seat so that part is good to go

Absolutely yes, you can remove either one side or the other!
When I did the back seat mod I removed one side at a time and did the cutting on my tailgate.
Leave the 40, pull the 60 and cut your custom floor down to fit the 60 area so the great looking pups still have some room??

Here's a center jump seat idea that's a little less conspicuous...you could also get the blank tray underneath (as opposed to the cd tray shown).

With about 150# of pups, wanted something tough, plus my fat **** when I get snowed in and cheaper than getting the stock floor

is that the "premium" seat. My tradesman has the storage area in the back of the top half of the jump seat. So if I open it up to have a 3rd seat, the **** gets all jumbled.

I was thinking of a not as tall version of the box that I first posted. This way the mutts can come be nosey easier. I have a co-worker itching to use his new welder haha.

If the need arises for a long gun, I would got this route since I have already done the backseat mod.

I don't believe so, just some of the seats have underseat storage or a CD player in there. I don't know why all of the jump seats don't have underseat storage, I bought mine on eBay and swapped it out.

Ah it looks like the bottom storage is for those with the center console and bucket seats

I didn't know you didn't have the fold flat. I have 150 lbs of dog on mine once a month to the vet. 70+80 lbs hounds.
