This may sound crazy but hey never know until you ask right...

Getting my tonneau cover thursday. One of the reasons why i bought a crew cab truck was to do traveling with my daughters softball team. I just got to thinking is there any easy way to reach things that migrate to the head of the bed without having to climb up? Lol

Not trying to be lazy just efficent...lol ok stop laughing... Anyone?

Which tonneau are you getting? I think that either BAK or Fold-a-Cover makes one that is a three fold that also opens at the front of the bed. Might want to look into that one before you get another.

My dad has always used a board across the back and now has a pole that extends/collapses like a turnbuckle instead

I just put a cut to length 2x4 in the slot towards the tailgate. Keep whatever I need in between the lumber and the tailgate

Not my pic

The board is an interesting idea but really wouldn't work for me...three to four suite cases catchers bag, two coolers, three chairs, A folding wagon, and I sure I am for getting something ...lol. Thus I got a truck lol

They also make a 'large drawer' if you will, that slides out over the tail gate, then rolls into the truck to close up. Legit idea, but $$$.

Get a tri-fold top. If cargo slips back too far for you to reach, you unclamp the tonneau, fold it back and grab from up-over the side of your truck. :33:

On my last truck I had one of the telescoping poles for this. I positioned mine between the wheelwells and it would keep our coolers, baseball bags, etc from sliding too far forward.

Try a bed rug. My stuff doesn't slide much.

Get an Amp BedXTender HD. Keeps thing from sliding up, and you can flip it and have a longer bed, especially with the shorter bed on the crew cabs).

Well got to talking with one of our maintence guys at work today as they do wood working and cabinet building and suchjust to bounce ideas off of...about twenty mins later he came up with hook on the end of a painters pole. He machined in the hook and that sucker will not come apart. It is pretty but will do the job quite nicely....and for the price (free) who can argue...
