So my buddy as a 2012 Eco and I have a 14 hemi , we are always bickering who's is quicker so after a round of 9 holes we lined it up on a back road after doing a quick drive by (can't be too careful) one thing to note these are both stock trucks as far as performance up grades .. He has fx4 package , I have an express . So we take off . He got me a bit off the line , as Rpms climbed I caught and got in front of him ... It was very close but I won , is this the norm between the 2 trucks , I realize he has twin turbo v6 that achieves a very flat torque line 1700-5500 rpm , but I thought the horsepower difference id crush him . I guess my truck is a bit heavier , I just didn't expect it to be so close . Anyone else have experience with the two?

I'd say you did pretty good, those EB's are quick. Is yours a 4WD? His is the old steel body, I think weight would be similar if drivetrain was. Torque is all that matters down low.

A lot depends on your gear setup and if you have a six speed or an eight speed. If you have the eight speed with the 3:92 that would make a difference.

The EB's are quick.

Stock they are in mid to low 14s.. With a tune you will be hitting mid to low 13s.. 2wd that is

2012 FX4 came with 3 available gear ratios, 3.55, 3.73, or 4.10(<-ecoboost only).

Your result is fairly typical. The thing with the EB is the power band comes on very early and in nearly flat to redline. This is how he jumped out but you were able to real him in when you got into your power band. Your hemi has 30hp more peak at the top end, his has more down low.

Put 5.0 in it and did head rest . Use it on long road trips (out of state hunts ) ... Can't beat it

Ecoboost is quick in low speed but after 60 mph the HEMI will pull him.
