I've been searching and can't find a straight answer, maybe there isn't one...

My cruise control works at random. The cruise light turns on and off when it should, but doesn't always engage. Sometimes it works on the way to work, sometimes it only works on the way home. I thought maybe it was related to the outside temp, but it's worked below freezing and it's worked in some of our more recent 60-70 degree days. I've pulled up on the brake pedal hoping something was keeping it from engaging but it doesn't make a difference. Seems to only work when it wants to. How do I fix this?

Often, most cruise control issues are indeed from the brake light switch.
I would either remove the connector, and clean the contacts. Or replace the switch itself.

While it's not a common issue on Rams (that I've read) it is still THE most common failure on Cruise Control systems.

I dont know if this will help, Mine did the exact same thing. I took some electrical contact cleaner and sprayed the steering wheel switches. Be carefule to cover the steering wheel and wear eye protection ( the **** burns when it gets in your eyes! Dont ask!) then work the buttons for a few minutes. Fixed my issue!

Hope this helps
