DASHBOARD BUBBLE

Bought a 2019 Ram Limited, it has 46000 miles on it and the leather on the dash is bubbled up, is there anything i can do for this, bought extended warranty through alpha but they said it did not cover it, any help would be appreciated

Apparently there is some kind of recall on this. I'd suggest doing some searching for the info. Check your VIN on this site also:

There is no recall on this. There may be a TSB or something similar, but no recall or warranty extension to date. The factory warranty will cover it, but extended warranties generally do not cover these types of issues. Ram has reportedly been agreeing to cover this for some people, while not for others. If you have a good relation ship with a Ram dealership you can see if they're willing to do anything for you, such as a good will repair. And you can try working with @RamCares to see if they can do anything for you.

I guess RAM does not really care about the thought of putting defective trucks out there with this issue. This is my first RAM and I have serious buyers remorse on my 2021. Only 38k miles and the dash is trash with bubble pockets. Dealership charges 3k to fix this issue. I know I won't be buying another one since I cannot get response since I raised the issue with @RamCares. Folks need to stay away from these money pits...lol!

Most decisions to conduct a recall and remedy a safety defect are made voluntarily by manufacturers prior to any involvement by NHTSA.

Per the NHTSA website. Cosmetic defects aren’t safety related. That said I do understand the frustration with cra$$y workmanship on an expensive item like a truck. To broadly say they are money pits is frustration talking. Every manufacturer including the vaunted Toyota has had its share of problems. Some more than others but it happens. I don’t own a fancier model with a leather dash so I ask, can it be repaired by an upholstery shop or a leather worker? Some may even venture to repair it themselves as it is leather glued to a subsurface. Again I understand the frustration and the anger with plunking down your hard earned cash for junk but it can be repaired. I’m sure the $3k dealer price is for a whole new dash.

What about using a dash mat to hide it,and probably help prolong the life of the dash. My 300C has a lifted dash,and i wasn't willing to spend the money or time to repair it,so i bought a dash mat,and now it doesn't bother me,lol

I looked into those...does not make sense to hide the look if that is the intent of having the upgraded dash.

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Limited. Same issue, Entire dash coming unglued and bubbling. Out of warranty obviously but its the only thing making this beautiful truck look bad. Checked some of those dash covers but they don't look too nice and stand out too which would be the point.

Some guys have had the dash recovered by an upholstery shop, for a lot less than having a dealership replace the dash. You might check into that if you have an upholstery shop nearby.

^^I would have the seller repair the dash or discount the purchase price the $$ amount to fix it properly since it may not be covered.

This is not how it works. You would have more than likely owned the vehicle from new and then work with them to obtain some type of help. Stellantis is not going to fix a vehicle for you to then buy it. TruckNut had the great answer, work with the seller to either have them fix it or get a deal so you can either fix it yourself or live with it as is. Good luck.
