I dunno why they keep calling me.

Our last Ram was a 2001.
We bought our 2012 for cash, so, no truck payments.

I told them last time that I expect this one to last us until at least 2023 and to call back then.
But this month, I get another call.

Tell them you sold it. I had to lose my **** on a nissan dealer because I told them 3 times to stop calling me and the last time they called my work number. That guy got a ear full and I haven't herd anything sense. Next time I'm just going to tell them I sold it.

I wish a dealership would call me! I've been in the process of trying to buy a truck for a couple months now. Apparently my cash must not be any good. I have even been told at one dealership "the salesman does not have time to talk to me". Looks like I might be buying privately.

That's new. I have been only to one dealer ship that someone didn't come running out of the door.

I have gotten calls, but as they only have my cell I just ignore it. They do try when I go there for anything. I stay nice as they have been really good to me and are nice people. Want to stay in good ......never know when I might just say "F it" and upgrade :)

I get emails at different times, but about every other month from the used car managers at two local dealers offering me trade in specials to fill their used truck inventory.

One of them is where I service my truck and I gather they ogle or appraise it ,or whatever, when its sitting in the service area.

I purchased mine on June 28, 2013. In the 2nd week of July, I got a call asking if I wanna get into a 2014.

Laughed and asked them what they'd give me for my truck. Based on their info, she gave me a $ figure 6K less than what I paid 2 weeks ago. Told her "Don't call me, I'll call you."

No calls since.

They sent me a letter a couple of days ago offering me 110% of my trade in value. Momma would be upset if I purchased a 4th truck to her 1 car.

I understand what they are doing.

I am old,
I have purchased several vehicles over my life and I have never been pestered this much.

and it's not even the dealer we bought the truck from.
All I ever get from them are coupons for oil changes and a Christmas card each year from the salesman.

The calls come from a dealer that I used for service.
(oil and spark plug change)

They are really wasting their time trying to get us to trade our truck,
now,
if they would talk about a charger...... that might be different,
but as mentioned,
it's beginning to irritate me to the point of not wanting to buy another Dodge now.

i dont know about your state, but in mine (maybe national) there are harassment laws and if you tell them to stop calling and they dont you can sue 1500 for each harassment call. next time they call threaten them with this and tell them to remove your number from their system.

I think the way they can get around that is because its not a considered a cold call, I have a business relationship with them (truck service) and gave them my phone number. <--- I can see that was a bad idea now.... I just wanted them to call me when my truck was ready.

I did ask them to stop calling, so it remains to be seen if they call again next month.

I had a similar problem with Time Warner (internet provider), they kept calling trying to get me to add TV and phone, took a few months to get them to stop.

I guess it's just been so many years since I bought a car that I was not prepared to have someone start calling me almost immediately to try to get me to trade it in.

I have been asked if I wanted to just upgrade to a new truck when I went to the dealership to get a quote on the entire dash in my truck. What he said was "you could just get a new truck and trade that one in for a down payment that way you don't have to do the labor on putting a new dash in and at least the dash won't break as fast as yours will" I was like heck no! I'm keeping that truck till the wheels fall off then I'll put them back on and go till it just won't go no more before I trade it in.

I get these stupid post card things, saying that my truck is Demand and they need used vehicles and will give me top dollar for my truck on a trade. I just throw em away, this is just a scam, all this does is gets you in there door and than the real price is lots less, they think that once you see and drive the new vehicle you will not care how much money you will lose in the trade. Some people fall for this B.S. The Dealer is there to make money lots of it..from you and everyone else if you let them.
