The dealer decal on my truck is on the left side of the tailgate.

I would have asked that they didn't put it on when they prepped the truck but I totally forgot. While it isn't hideous it does distract from one of the reasons getting the black express package.

What is the best way to remove it without marring the paint surface?

if it is a hard plastic one warm it up with a hard dryer and like he said use some fishing line to break it free. You will have some tape stuck to the truck, heat up the tape and use duct tape to get the rest off. The sticky part of the duct tape will pull the emblem tape right off.

If it is just a vinyl decal heat it up and peel it off.

no worries easy day. I cleaned the spots that I removed the vinyl from with rubbing alcohol.

What I did was just get the pressure washer real close and it blasted it right off. Just make sure you don't have any rock chips or anything around it if you do that.

Well, job completed. Total time with the help of a hair dryer was 10 Minutes including cleaning off left over sticky residue. Would have been faster, but all individual letters so had to remove one at a time. Guess I could have blacked it out like the ram emblem :).

Just saw this till now, I removed mine the same day I picked up the truck but it probably had them on there for a little bit, they came right off like a normal sticker just peeled it off by hand, super easy.
