Secretly it's my favorite mod. No issues whatsoever and quicker to remove from the truck if I want to clean the bed or haul REALLY nasty stuff. and SOOOOO much easier on the knees than the bed liner.

Thanks. I've tried to keep the truck looking stock, yet better, so the little details catch your eye rather than being over the top with the mods.

And if it doesn't improve the function somehow, I'm not very interested.

Where is it coming loose? Is it that piece that you install with the tool on the tailgate?

I love my Tailgate Assist. I think it was one of my first mods..

So I bought one maybe 2 weeks after I got my truck and it sat for a year before I put it on ...what a stupid move. It is a great mod for the cost!! I have played with the idea of putting another one on the drivers side...works great!!

Only complaint is be mindful of the hardware that comes with it. Mine had the wrong stuff in it but they fixed ASAP no problems, so great support too.

Does just the one side handle the gate weight or would one for each side help? Looks great on your truck btw.

Only one needed. Handles the weight fine. Only trick is to install correctly and periodically check for tightness. Use red threadlock.

Bill thanks. As SB said only one is needed. It works fantastic.

Here is an install video that shows you what needs to be done. The only difference is use red loctite not what is supplied.

I always let my 5yo daughter open the tailgate when we take in our recycling, have gotten a few gawks when folks thought it would drop on her hear LOLOL

Mine came loose after a month, had to retighten and use red locktite

Oh just one more note. After I removed the limiter on the cable, I added a small washer and put it in its place. The limiter essentially acts as a washer and when you remove it to enable more range of movement the cable end could rub the tailgate directly.

Talked my neighbor into ordering one for his PowerWagon. Didn't take much convincing though... once I showed him how it worked, he almost ran inside to go order it.
