Have a question about the 2016 Diablo tuners, I know you need to buy a new PCM or send yours in, and then you can tune it. My question is that the mileage discrepancies. Diablo wants you to send you the mileage of the truck. but if you need service and swap the factory PCM the mileage wont match? Can you clear this up? I emailed Diablo about this with no response.

The mileage will be different, but the dealership has no reason to go looking for that difference. I have mad my truck in for warranty work twice on a couple minor things, but both involved the computer. They did not say a word to me about the mileage being off with my stock PCM back in the truck.

That is good to hear! I plan on buying the pcm and Diablo i2 with the Hemifever combo this Summer for my 2016 RAM R/T. I am also one of the lucky guys who have a MOD friendly dealer ship! =)

Say you install your new unlocked PCM at 5000 miles. Then at 20,000 miles you go in for service. Your unlocked PCM will show the correct 20,000 miles, but the original stock PCM is still going to say 5,000 miles. You would have to send your original PCM back to Diablo to program it to the current 20,000 before reinstalling it and then taking it in for service if you wanted everything to match.

As said above though, I am not worried in the least bit about the mileage not matching because the dealership is not going to look for that. We have been shipping unlocked PCM's for about a year now and I have yet to have a single customer call or post saying that the dealership gave them a hard time because the mileage doesnt match. Multiple people say they are worried about it, but not 1 has actually had any issue with this at the dealership. Its a non issue in my opinion.

Will be interesting how this plays out w/ the mileage differences/etc. when a trans or motor goes south and the info in the pcm doesnt match. I know the 8 speed is supposedly alot more reliable then the 545 trans but the 8 speed trans & swapping pcm's havent been out that long. Give the scenario a few more yrs of good abuse and it will be interesting to see how the warranty work all plays out.

The 8sp transmission has been out since 2013 though, and there are plenty of guys that have pushed them very hard. They just are not breaking. I know guys doing everything from pulling 10,000lb trailers, to drag racing, to street racing, to mud racing, to everyday grocery getters. This is without a doubt the most solid automatic transmission Dodge/Ram has ever put in these trucks.

Going to pull the trigger on one of these myself towards the end of the month. Matt over at Moe's has been answering a lot of my stupid questions, stand up guy and vendor for sure. Just saving up the cash and getting the last of bolt on modifications I want to do completed before hand. shame I do not know a lot about this type of stuff, just know that my truck needs some help pushing these 37" tires and my speedometer is effed up

Just ordered one also from Matt, like 30 mins ago. Lol I have wanted one since I first bought my truck and became a member of this forum. It will be the only other mod besides the 18" mag muffler I put on my truck a month after I bought it. I have the sound now just looking for a little performance. Pretty excited to see the change.

Received and loaded the 91 tune on my truck as well as emailed Sean with the info he needs to right his custom tune.

It will be nice to get rid of the MDS instead of manually shutting it off every time I drive the truck. Couldn't really get on the truck much from my office to the store and home since everything is in town with in a couple miles of each other but didn't really notice any difference in performance. I expected that though, now waiting on the custom tune...

If diablo has the way of crackin the stock 16's ecu to reprogram it for a tuner,why cant they re program the tuner to work with factory ecu so we dont have to buy a ecu and tuner or send in our ecu to be reprogrammed to work with tuner???
