So I got my HF canned tune. I flashed it with 89 since that's what I put in, and didnt really want to change. Not going to lie, the canned DS tune felt better. ugh, I dont want to burn through this whole tank I JUST filled up....

In Seans email it says that he will look at the logs and tweak the tune but you need to put 93 in.. ummm then why did he send me a 89 tune as well? I am going to keep strong with this 89 tune. Log it with 89 and send it to him. fug it i paid 500 bucks for this friggen thing..

my shifts were much tighter with the DS tune tho.. and still i cant burn my tires for ****.. this is pathetic..

Yeah, I have no idea what it is. The only thing I can think of doing is mounting a camera under the hood or something and see if I can tell what it could be.

The canned tune felt like it had more power, but to me the 89 HF tune felt smoother. Like it was running better. I'm not able to roast my tires, but I do get a quick squel at take off when I gun it. You don't have to fill up with 93 if you don't want to. If you plan to stay with 89, log data and send that too him and let him know you don't have any plans to go up to 93.

I don't think tweaks, if any, are done on the 89 octane. The 93 tune will be the one that really is gonna feel good.
But you need to make sure your tank is all 93, you don't want to run the 93 tune on gas that is even mixed with 89.
He sends an 89 tune, encase you don't want to run the higher octane.

Thanks Vols I kinda feel better im not the only one, Im just kinda on edge with this whole thing. I had a WRX I spend 500 bucks on a tune and I got almost 68 AWHP, I just thought I was going to get more out of this then a "I kinda think I feel a difference" feeling. I know I'm not going to get the same power I got out of mySubie but man this is making me regret the purchase. The canned tune shift points were nice tho I was diggin it, now I feel like its back to stock with out MDS. I'm at 1/4 throttle and it just hangs low in whatever gear its in and dosnt budge and I have to punch the throttle to get up a hill or I loose speed to fast, the DS canned tune fixed that, not the HF tune.. wtf..

Dave thats the whole thing. i dont want to run 93, if DS can can tune an 87 octane tune and make it feel better on 89, then HF has to be able to do something for me on 89...

Oops sorry, I must have missed that part...

Then I am sure Sean can dial in the 89 tune. Tell him what you liked about the canned tune, and he'll tell you how to adjust it to your liking.

I felt that he was very helpful and did a great job with my tune.

I am not trying to be arrogant or brag, but with my current mods and the HF tune, my tires roast all the way through 1st gear and into 2nd gear. Adding the HF tune was the one mod that gave me more performance than any single one of my other mods.

Keep working it, bro. I think that there is room for improvement on your tune! :)

So which TC fits my truck ? The edge raceing 11" or the edge racing 9.5? I don't go to the track, someday I will. I don't pull stuff, I street race, a lot. I drive my truck like I stole it.
I really don't care about the price I just want the best for my retardation!

I think having a regular cab has a lot to do with burning your tires up. I have a QC 3.55's and 20's. :****sweak: but it looks sick haha I think the only other mod I'm doing after this is a flowmaster 50 series muffler.

What's wrong with running the 93 if there is a little 89 in the tank? I got my tank down to less than a gallon of 89, filled up with 93, drove about 8 miles, then loaded the 93 tune. I understand it's bad to run an octane tune higher than your octane, but if 95% of the tank is 93, would it cause any problems? I've since then gone about 200 miles and filled up with 93 again.

I have the QC with 3.55s too. The weight, coupled with the high gears sucks in regards to our starting power. I'd really like to get the 3.92s, but eventually I will go with a 37" tire and would prefer to get 4.56s. Only problem is we can't get 4.56s right now, and I don't want to spend money twice on gears.

restore the whole thing and try to reload your factory tune on it after it updates if you know for sure the one you sent sean was no corrupt. You could be trying to reload a corupt restore.. just a thought

Thanks for the advice but this same file I've restored numerous times successfully. I don't know what's wrong now but I gotta give DS a call tomorrow.

The 89 tune is a safer more driveable tune. The 91/93 tune from Sean is the one he recommends you run if you want more get up and go.

You just have to monitor the LT and ST knocks on the tuner, LT is bad, too high of ST is also not good.

Would these settle once I'm strictly 93 after a few more fill ups?

Just with the canned 93 DS tune I can get this girl to chirp the tires in to 2nd gear. I'm really hoping the HF 93 tune does a little more than just chirp. I'm still coming back to this thread to read all the responses and see if I actually wanna spend the money for it.
Hope all goes well with the testing!

If you're getting LT knock, I would email sean a log and see if he needs to tweak. I run 93 with 10% ethanol with my 91 tune, but there's not much better he can do as the 93 with ethanol is probably optimizing the tune.
