@Devildog8791 not sure if you have read this or if it has been mentioned to you...do not panic if your truck gets a little noisy after switching to redline. Give it a good 1400 or so miles, then come back and let us know how your truck is doing. Sometimes they get a little noisy doing it's thing. Then it gets nice and quiet. When I switched my truck over from stock oil, 1400 was the number. It got quieter earlier, but around 1400 was the biggest change. I ran 7500 miles on that oil change with Blackstone saying I can go to 8500. I just sent in my last oil change. I'll see how this one compares. I'm running 5w30 RL and 20820 RP filter.
I took a video of the engine running right before I changed the oil so I can do a comparison at the next oil change. I wasn't having any real issues with my engine, but I wanted to put a good oil in it before I did.

Hey yall so new ram owner. 14 5.7 with MDS. So for my next oil change i should switch over to redline 5w30 and RP filter?
redline 5w30 is better then redline 5w20 in our trucks/?

If i run mobile 1 5w20 with lucus stab that is fine in my truck with MDS i saw some threads people always mentioning they run lucas in a NON mds engine.

Look up lucas stabilizer stat sheet, the viscosity at operating temp is over 100, 5w20 that number is 9, 5w30 that number is 12. With what we know about hemi's, this product should be nowhere near it. If you believe machinelube the perfect balance of protection and flow is somewhere around 30 weight. Research around a bit and decide what you want. I run 5w30 redline, but I also ran 5w20 redline with great results. If you don't have any tick, Pennzoil PUP and some lubegard biotech looks like a great option. Lube gard biotech is poor mans redline, it is built like redline, so you can add that to your favorite oil and make it better for the hemi. Molybdenum is the real beneficial additive.

Great thank you for the info.theres no tick but I want the truck as long as I can make it and treat it well.

For a 14 raM a 10-48 royal purple filter is correct?

What's the next best thing if I can get a rp

You can opt for larger RP 20-820 if you want, many guys run that. Fram Ultra, Wix XP, Napa Platinum, Amsoil EA, SRT filter, are all good spun microglass options. If you have time read filter thread in my sig.

Just got a used 2017 Bighorn to tow my 5K camper trailer. Probably won't drive over 10K miles a year.
I've been reading a lot on this forum about the "Hemi tic". I also recently viewed Andy's video on the design
flaw. Wow! It was very informative to get an indepth understanding of what causes it. The truck has 33K miles on it and I plan on going to RL oil and RP filter. The engine is very quiet and doesn't seem to have the tick. Just
wondering which redline oil and 5W-20 or 5W-30 ? Where's the best place to buy it? How about additives or just stay with straight Redline as there are no noises? I live in Vermont and will drive it very little this winter.
I enjoy the forum and appreciate all the information people share.

gotexhuast but it looks like he doesn't sell 0w30, and up there in VT I would be using 0w30 year around unless I was doing two changes a year. Nick sells everything redline at drop ship price, very low pricing, but you need to pm him on 0w30. 5w30 redline is hemi honey in most places, but there have been some piston slap when you get down below 20f. It is best to change oil soon as winter gets rolling, make best use of those vii's.

don't call my Uncle Tony by the name Andy again I will hang your balls in my garage :)

So been searching around for redline, found one place in canada with the 1 gallon jugs so 3.85 liters or so and its $65 bucks. Or 1 quart $20.. Plus shipping of course.

Then the RP filters found $33 each lmao.

the lube guard. Cant even find out here or online just no luck at all..

Anyone in canada or manitobe specifically where do you buy this stuff.

Lots of adequate lube and filter combinations for these engines, do your homework and don’t question the decision. If you need reassurance, send a sample to Blackstone or local oil analysis.

I order from a new place I found out in Quebec for redline. They carry the stuff for everything you’ll need for your truck. RP filter I get off amazon Canada. She’s at $32 right I believe and I have searched for this everywhere! Ebay Canada has them too, but you paying more for duty/shipping. Partsource offers redline oil as well. They don’t advertise what they carry, just a few items. They don’t advertise the redline motor oils but have them in stock. It may depend on your local Partsource store too as I heard some don’t keep it in stock or carry at all. I know the Timmins parts source here in Ontario carries it. The dude at the counter always asks why I’m running this stuff as it’s their most expensive oil they carry. My answer is “My lady loves it” lol.
