Make sure you are making noise about this. They won't cut you slack if they think you are a sheep.

Is there a way for me to find a local Chrysler rep 2 contact?

Word from the purchasing dealer is that they are going to redo the entire recall for me. It also sounds like they are going to do a complete rear differential rebuild on the truck. I rode with the service director and a technician and in their conversations they knew it was the bearing they knew they did the original work and at that moment they decided that they would redo the recall on the truck. As far as the carrier bearing they are unsure if that is part of the recall so I may have to just purchased those particular parts well they are in there. But the service technician said he thinks those are covered under the recall as well. I will also be getting a new pinion gear and ring gear . The only bad part is no rental coverage but I was not going to push my luck. The differential was extremely hot when we got back to the dealership so I was told to drive the truck home and park it until Tuesday when they can get the parts in from Atlanta. Overall I feel they are taking very good care of me and being very fair about the whole process. And I get to work from home until wednesday when I get it fixed.

Good for the dealer standing behind their work. Actually if the recall had been done properly you would not be in this situation now.

Sounds like a win.

That's good to hear.

I have heard on the other forum people getting the entire diff rebuilt. One guy even had his drive is explode or something on his way to get the recall done.

I was worried I was going to have mine rebuilt.

Yea. me too. Glad they are standing by it.

I did also read elsewhere that per the Service bullettin, they are to rebuild them if they meet the criteria. Wish I had that copy to display here. So, beauty now is im working from home today and the truck is at the dealership. should be done by 2pm.

I am a DIY kind of guy. Build my first truck, have done 90% of all the work on all of my vehicles, so haveing to take it somewhere to get fixed was rough. but very glad they are taking care of the repair.

I dropped it off at the local dealer this morning. Svc manager rode me up to my office so he could listen. Im hoping the recall was not done and that is my issue. on the ride over, he thought there were two different noises. maybe a bearing and the diff.

I do know it is louder when I open the rear window but not the others.

A lot of noise seams to come up between the cab and the bed when you open that back window.

I was thinking wheel bearing as well just due to the fact it changes in sound under acceleration and deceleration. That's usually caused by less or more weighting being on the bearing when the weight shifts. Could also see if it sounds different when you steer left or right into a corner.

Hoping for the best possible outcome. :)

Pick the truck up yesterday afternoon from the dealer and it is completely quiet again. They completely rebuilt the differential and it didn't cost me a single dime. So anyone in that Tennessee area looking for a good Dodge dealership you should check out the one in Tullahoma Stan McNabb. Just sayin
