I haven't looked into it honestly. There would be extra wires in the harness for mirror mics that won't work because the 17/18 truck's have them in the headliner and the 17/18 mic signal wires are run seperately through the headliner connector behind the driver's side air vent.

That's what I thinking the only difference is as well. I ordered that harness, and then realized that P/N is not listed anywhere under the 17. I have factory Bluetooth, so I already have the mics in the headliner. When it comes in I'll let y'all know what I find. If I got the repin a connector it won't be the first time. I had a 95 base model Intrepid that wanted to add auto headlights to. I decided just to swap the dash harness. I got one from a 94 and surprisingly there were a lot of differences between the 94 and 95 pinouts. IIwas chasing electrical gremlins for a while. In the end it worked out cause not only did I gain auto headlights but also ATC, Infinity sound, and keyless entry.

Nevermind. The issue worked itself out.

The dealer i ordered the harness from online asked me for my VIN. Then said the harness for a 2017 is not available by itself, and only comes with the headliner. I asked then why does it have it's own part number and price. I also explained that I am aware that it is technically for a 2013-2016 model years, but in my own research the only difference is the microphones we're moved. I also asked them to send me what I ordered or give me my money back. They said they will ship it, but won't take it back if it won't work.

So for a 2016, I have manual dimming RVM with Microphone, and would like to add auto dimming - the headlight sensor stuff not to worried about, but if it comes with it fine.

These mirrors just turn and click into place, correct - that is you don't have to remove and re-apply any adhesive or anything on the glass?

Since I have microphone mirror now, I assume harness is in place and it would basically be a plug and play replacement, other than any sales code programming? Or does the 911/headlight dimming mirror have different harness/plug?

Correct. Turn to remove/install

Just to make things difficult, FCA changed the connectors between the manual & AutoDim mirrors. You will need a new mirror header harness (Mopar) from the connector behind the passenger air vent, up the 'A' pillar to the mirror.

I can now verify that harness 68207372AB does work with the 2017 mirror 68293658AA. I don't see any reasons it won't work on any other 2017 part numbers.

My truck is a 2010 and my factory RVM is discoloring, and it’s time to get a new mirror. Can I add the auto dim RVM (without mic and cameras) on my truck, and have the auto dim work?
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the mirror/harness wiring and PNs for the early 09-12 4th gen (different than the 13-18's)

Just commenting to keep this in my sights. I’m planning on upgrading to Auto dim and auto high beam in my 18. This forum is killing my wallet.

Hmm.. Let me see if I've got this straight ('cause I think my initial impressions from other threads were incorrect).

I have a 2014 1500 that originally had an RA2 and a manual RVM with microphones. (It now has a VP4 radio).

I picked up a brand new 911/Assist AutoDimming Mirror (68096091AG) for about the same price most are asking for a used one. (Gotta love eBay's "Make an Offer")

From reading other threads I thought it would plug into the same harness and use the same upper and lower covers. I thought only the Smartbeam mirror required different covers. A couple of quick BCM changes with Alpha and away we go...

Now, reading this thread (posts #1 and #29 in particular) it looks like I will need both a different set of covers (upper and lower) and a new harness?

Is this correct or am I misreading something? The mirror came in the other day but it's been 10F or less since and I'm not keen on pulling things apart to check in these temps.

Looking at post 29 now, I'm not sure if that is completely correct. For a warm fuzzy, try popping off the right side dash cover (against the door) and see what PN is on the harness going up if you get the chance. I think it will be 68207372AB.

On my 2013 SLT truck with factory Ra2 and manual dim RVM with mics, the autodim mirror (with smartbeam) was a direct swap as I already had the harness.

Also, I thought the upper and lower covers were the same for the basic AutoDim, since the autodim Sensors are on the front/back of the mirror face area. (I believe the upper cover is the same for all of them)

Does anyone know the procedure to aim / adjust the auto high beam camera? I just swapped mirrors and need the high beams to stay on longer. They seem to cut out even with no on coming traffic or street lights.

Yeah, I'll take a look at that and the covers as soon as I finish chiseling the ice off of her. :)

That's what I remembered reading elsewhere and why I thought I would not need other parts.

I thought so too, but your first post in this thread lists different covers for each of the three:

. . . (AutoDim w/AutoHighBeam Covers: Upper - 1ZA39DX9AA & Lower - 1YW14DX9AC )

Hence my confusion!
