Seems like it's coming from around the collector but it's welded to the y-pipe and no leaks so do headers just make a ticking noise. I used mopar gaskets and tightened them up good. Haven't tightened them after a heat cycle or after over 1000 miles haha but I didn't feel any leaks around the gaskets.

The stock cast manifolds attenuate a lot of the valve noise, when you swap to tube headers they will have a higher noise transfer since there is less material.

I would use a rubber hose to listen closely around the collector area. Sometimes the headers have leaks from the factory.

Mechanics-Stethoscope can locate alot of sounds...

But as charonblk07 said, you will get a different tone and resonance of valve train and injector noise with tube headers.. Think of it this way, the cast manifolds act the same way as a magnet on a cymbal on a set of drums... change the size of the magnet and the tone changes... its a crappy example but best I could think of
