I hereby name thee The "Wing-Nut" Jack Hold-Down Mod. :D

A quick tip for 4thGen Ram Owners.
Don't want a stuck jack hold-down? Replace yours with the 2018+ Pieces!

I've seen the post(s) and even had it happen once. You know, right? The jack hold-down wing-screw under the passenger seat, the one that goes through the nut in the floorboard that gets rust from underneath.

Yeah, it sucks. Especially when you actually need your jack but can't get it out because the wing-nut's rusted in place.

Guess what though? Ram made a different design in the 2018+ Classics. Cost is less than $15 and 10 minutes of your time and here's the part information.

Original.

Don't use loc-tite, use grease on the threads when installing the stud into the floor in case it ever needs to be removed.

I’m looking for this on line. No one shows it.
I’ll bring these photos to a dealer to look up and order.
Avoiding my local dealer so I’ll have to travel.
Can you tell me which of the part numbers is the relevant one? Can you uncover the stud number? Thanks.

The numbers you need are the ones on the left side. Looks like about 5 bucks total for both pieces. Here are the numbers so you can cut and paste.

Thanks everyone. If I was a smarter man I'd have bought all the stock that was available stateside, sold them all for a little profit to an online retailer, and made money.

Nah, I'd rather share the trick. Bigpaul13 is correct, the part numbers are 06508288AA and 06512623AA.

Great post OP.
The only time you need to get at that Jack is usually when your tools aren't beside you.

Let me tell you it freaking happened to me . Could not get that wing nut bolt off took about I swear a good 40 mins pain in the ass. Just another very bad engineering job by Ram . Stuck on the road in the rain and have to keep the door open to get at the jack ,and fight with it. Also no tools to take a wing nut off, finally used a quarter ,and the slot on the seat belt to turn the wing nut to get at the jack and tools.:893Chainsaw-Smilie-

So what year did they make the change? I'm asking because my truck is a 2017 and it already came like that but OP stated 18+. Not that it really matters just curious.

yours looks like his last pic?.....unscrew the wing and see if its a female with a stud that remains in the truck, or a one piece like in his first pic.

Mine is a 2017 and I had the older style
