So I am trying to get my leather seats warrantied because they rise up like 1-2inches from day 1 of ownership.

@FXCLM5, what do you mean about your leather seats raise up 1-2inches?

On my 18 Limited the whole bottom cushion pulls away from the seat frame? The passenger seat is normal.

Thanks

Anyone care to elaborate on how long I should be expecting to wait for a response from FCA?

So I am trying to get my leather seats warrantied because they rise up like 1-2inches from day 1 of ownership.

My driver door is like 1/4-1/2" taller then the rear door, asked them to re-align it too.

At first the service writer was looking at me all crazy, and after I explained to him I was a auto tech he had the audacity to say why dont I just go home, align it and fix it myself. I kinda glared at him and said this is pure warranty work for you the dealership and the tech - its a win win situation, he then tells me at end of service the "tool" to realign doors is broken and out getting fixed. Also my passenger seat belt doesnt click in on 1st try like 50% of the time and he had to order that too.

Well its 6 weeks just wondering how much longer should I be waiting? A seatbelt buckle surely doesnt take 6 weeks nor does a tool repair, unless I am missing something.

i would really like to see a door up to a 1/2" taller....you got pictures of this?? cause if it was it would be hitting or scraping something...just dont buy it

Have you tried slightly pulling up on door from the bottom? Since it’s so new, maybe the hinges slipped a 1/8” from assembly line.

Edit: on second thought, don’t even do anything cause they will blame you for trying.

Mine is like folding with a ridge line forming, sometimes the raised up portion is almost as tall as the side cushions that are supporting your thighs.

I dont have anything in my back pockets ever, i dont put my wallet or my phone back there, and if you google this issue, its quite apparent on the Laramie - people state the quality of the leather is very hit and miss. But upgrade to laramie lonhorn or limited leather and the leather is like 3x as thick and literally is impossible for itself to fold like the laramies do - due to the thickness of the leather.

looks to me like the latch needs to be kicked up a little. if you dont want to give it a little wack, try loosing the torxs heads on the latch and retighten...sometimes that brings it back into alignment

I could, but then if I did that, I could do my tailgate and front bumper. Where should I stop?

I just paid off the truck and this is my very first brand new car purchase, being 3 months old and still in warranty I was just hoping the dealer at least try harder. Its not like its a tradesman with plastic bumpers, the laramie trim package should deserve better qc

I know, and tbh the tradesman vinyl looks better since it doesnt fold up like mine does.

that wont matter , you can pull on that door all you want but its in the closed position so its in the lock hinge....like i said either get a new one or hit it with a hammer to knock it up a little bit. By pulling on the door your just bending the inner fender flanges then more things get out of whack

I wish my doors were that straight.

Bring your 17 to the dealer and have them adjust it, it should be covered under the bumper to bumper 3yr 36k

Been to 2 different dealer body shops. Most of my issues are mis drilled holes and in 1 case a panel not being on the jig quite right for welding so things won't line up. Things are about as straight as they could get it without doing major body work. Goes for my cab, box and some trim as well. I spent some time trying to get it straighter than the body shops, but the the improvement was minimal.

Next time I'm near it I'll shoot a few pics. I know I've posted them before, but so long ago I can't remember what thread it was.

It finally went in on 7/9

At least its a big improvement, dunno what to say - prolly within spec??? But now the door sticks outwards like 1/8" vs passenger side is alot more flush.

My roomate saw my passenger side then my driver side and said take it back and hopefully not the same person will work on it. LOL In the pic it dosent look bad, just sticking out, but passenger side looks factory, while my driver side looks like it has been in a accident and had its original door replaced :(

I took mine in because the door lines where way off, they sent it to a body shop and all is good now.
