2013 1500 Express with 5.9 with 109k miles. Noticed small spots of oil in the driveway. Looks to be coming from the oil filter area. Filter is tight. Oils level is about 1/2qt low. Due for an oil change so I’ll inspect it then. Has anybody else experienced this with a bad filter gasket, or is there a part in that area that’s prone to develope a leak? Thanks for any suggestions.

I had a k&n leak on my 17 5.7. mine was not a drip though it was a bad leak, 1/2 qt in 12 miles. Mine was because the center hole on the base plate was not square with the base plate so the filter didn't pull up square. Of course it didn't leak on the drive way, started leaking going down the road. You can see where baseplate was rubbing filter mount at about 9 to 2 location. Haven't had any issues with any other filter.1733d120bd9744c340d707261711df12.jpg

My Wix xp did the same thing; basically screwed on crooked causing a bad seal.

Now today my Old Faithful M1 had a defect. That's tow different oil filters in one year.
